Problems with Frontline Flea Control
Comments (105)PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE AND DO NOT USE FRONTLINE ON YOUR PET!!! It will KILL them!! Maybe not right away, but the effects it has on them can last for quite a while. This applies to heartworm medications as well! Our beloved dog Einstein was treated with Frontline before he was a year old, based on a recommendation of my Vet. I figured the Vet would know if there were any issues with this product and would not recommend anything that was bad (poisonous!) for our dog. After the treatment, he developed a huge sore on his back (at the treatment site) that did not go away for months. This was just the beginning. He began having asthma type symptom's after that. I knew exactly what had caused the problems. We only had Einy for six years when suddenly he got much worse and we took him into the Vet. They determined that he had cancer, but without opening him up, they could not determine exactly what organ was affected. Within a week of diagnosis, he died in my husbands arms. It was devastating! I would urge that people stand together to BAN this medication! This should not be on the market. Read all the warnings listed on the internet about this product. Give your dog or cat a bath. Fleas drown within a few minutes of being submerged. It is better than losing your pet like we did....See MoreWhat do you use for fleas on your dog?
Comments (17)yes I have and even fresh ones. I had a friend here for a while whose little dog is diabetic and she fed her green beans and carrots and peas as treats. Mia was very interested since that dog loved them and I thought ok this might make her eat something like that. She tried it once and spit it out LOL. She has always had a sensitive stomach since she showed up here and had been living on bugs and roots and was so skinny. Now she eats chicken breast that I cook for her, boneless skinless and steamed so there is no fat, then I put it in the food processor. I mix her probiotics in each bowl. She also has Blue Buffalo crunchy food that she will occasionally munch on. On a rare occasion she might take a tiny bite of cheese but no guarantees. She would however eat meat from our dinner plate if we allowed her but then she would pay for it in tummy problems. She has reflux and takes pepcid and pepto for those bouts. Yes I can try to get the Sentinal elsewhere and probably will do that. I just wish they would continue to keep things as they were at the clinic. It has been hard on customers and animals to have lost our wonderful vet and now have to make changes. I was wondering if any one else using the Trifexis has had any problems with it for their dog?...See Morefrontline plus question
Comments (10)According to the Frontline website, it kills "up to 100% of ticks within 48 hours" so it is very possible for a tick to become engorged before it dies. If you want a faster tick-killing product, then I would use the PrevenTic collar. It has amitraz so you have to be careful about touching the collar yourself, or having kids or other pets touch or lick it. But it works really well. One collar lasts 3 months. I know people who just put it on their dogs when they go outside or to certain parks and they are happy with it. I haven't used i myself....See MoreFrontline Plus vs. BioSpot vs. Advantage
Comments (40)With 8 dogs you will have to use a few products. Wash dog bedding, towels, quilts, blankets and your own laundry with your regular detergent, but add Borax to each wash. Wash walls, ceilings and floors with a Borax solution of Borax and water. I usually use 1/4 cup to a gallon of hot water. Mix well. on the rugs I use Bio Spot Carpet Spray. I also take the sofa cushions off the sofa, vacuum well the spray with Bio Spot Carpet Spray lightly, then place the cushions back on the sofa immediately. You can also spray a grooming brush with flea and tick spray (the kind you can spray on the dog.) then brush the dog well outside. im allergic to mites, so every 3 months the above is exactly what I do. Works well for me. My dog has never gotten fleas. Hope this helps. I did extensive research and testing to come up with the recipe....See Moretrancegemini_wa
