Casa Dolce Case makes some too. Margieb2 used them in her kitchen in a mixed color, but they have them in the neutral beige.

Fastfloors.com sold them for about $25/sq ft, but my local dealer was going to sell them to me for $35 sq ft. Retail price is about $65.

I have always adored the bs in the photo from
that KraftM ad.
I belive the backsplash is a mix of iridescent and non
iridescent white tiles and possibly mother of pearl mixed
with a light beige too. There are places you can design
your own.

I believe that they are Bisazza, although you could write an inquiry to Kraftmaid. They look like a backsplash I admired in a design magazine--it was a green, rustic kitchen with a damask patterned backsplash credited to Bisazza in the final pages. The damask was only visible from certain angles; the rest of the time there was just a subtle iridescence.

I was desperately searching for that backsplash for my kitchen. The tile store & I came to the conclusion it was Oceanside's veil blend. But it was in the "facet" size, which is 1/2" x 1/2". Also, we didn't think that the tiles were the ones you usually see with Oceanside, but rather were more exactly placed, and not crooked ones.

I did email Kraftmaid, but they aren't sharing.

definitely check out hakatai. I've had lots of luck with them. You can design your own blend on their website, as well as order samples.

To me they look like all the tiles are the identical color, which means they can't be Oceanside Veil or any kind of blend.

I don't think there is a damask pattern or any pattern present in the Kraftmaid ad. To me there is just random flashes of light off super tiny tiles.

I think you can get the same exact effect as the Kraftmaid ad from several lines of tile as long as you pick tiles with that same lustre finish, all the same color, super tiny size, similar grouting to the ad.

I changed my mind after comparing the Kraftmaid ad backsplash to a similar backsplash online.

No iridescence is seen unlike the similar backsplash.
Tiles are super tiny, all the same color, all the same lustre finish, could be some shading to the tiles like the similar backsplash.

Like kitchendetective, I think they are bisazza.

Bisazza Damasco Bianco is stunning.
After comparing the two together, I still don't think it is Bisazza.
There is no iridescence in the Kraftmaid ad while Bisazza is iridescent.
There is no pattern in the Kraftmaid ad while Bisazza has that damask pattern.
The tiles in the Kraftmaid ad are smaller than the Bisazza tiles.

This link shows the 1/2" facets from Oceanside. The tiles in the picture have straight caulk, not crooked like the typical Oceanside. BUT Oceanside does have a line of straight caulk tiles. AND they are available in the facets. When I was looking at them, they ran around $73 sq foot.

If I were buying glass tile I have no idea how I would decide because there are so many to choose from that I would fall in love with.

Has anyone ever seen this type of backsplash with a more traditional cabinet- like inset off white? I am leaning old world/traditional in my kitchen plans but I sort of love the idea of this glimmery backsplash (like in kraftmaid photos esp).

American Olean has a series like this. http://www.buytile.com/home.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=5335&szid=120 I have never bought tile from this company, but found this when I, like you, fell in love with the idea of a glimmery backsplash (mine was the one in the Electrolux commercials with Kelly Ripa, darn her!). Never did find that backsplash, but when I finally got samples, I determined it was waaaay to busy for my more rustic kitchen. I might go back to it for my bathroom though, when I get to it. I am designing my own Oceanside mosaic. The website is great because you can give different percentages of each color, sizes and layouts of tiles and actually see what it will look like.

I can help!!! I actually just finished an exact copy of this kitchen - but instead of using Kraftmaid, I had my local cabinet maker copy the cabinets. I did email Kraftmaid and they were very helpful giving me the answers to all my questions. The backsplash they used is the Casa Dolce Casa but when I received a sample of if from the tile store I work with, I wasn't happy with the finish. It had some chipped edges and I was looking for something a bit more "clean". I ended up using Onyx Opala Beige 1x1 Glass Mosaic tiles and it is absolutely beautiful! I'm in the process of grouting (using Jamo Heather)and should finish by end of this week.

As soon as I finish the backsplash, the cabinet makers will install the vent hood, the panels for the subzero fully integrated fridge, double draw dishwasher and wine fridge, and install the hardware that I just received this week.

I'm not a professional decorator. I live in Florida and have lots of friends who have second homes (condo's) here and I help them manage their remodeling projects and work with their GC's while they are not here. As a result, I end up helping them select cabinets, counter tops, backsplashes, appliances, etc. So much fun!

I have completed six kitchens in the past 24 months and my favorite is this one. My friend saw the same pictures you saw and wanted to duplicate it. It is the most elegant kitchen I have ever seen. It's both traditional and modern (transitional?).

I used a beautiful quartz counter top (Kraftmaid used granit.) It's breath-takingly beautiful!

I'm new to this site and haven't learned how to post pictures yet but will do so and post picture of the kitchen when it is finished.

I also learned that the glass in the cabinets is clear - it's the inside of the cabinets that are the dark brown color.

Does anyone know if these shimmery tiles are available in shapes/sizes other than the small squares?

candyce, where did you get the Onyx Opala Beige 1x1 Glass Mosaic tiles from? I wanted to take a look but dont know who makes it/cant find it online. Do you recall what color the Casa Dolce Casa tile was (the one on the kraftmade brochure and which you said you ordered a sample of). I want to also order a sample but not sure what color to order and each sheet runs around $25, so can only get two sheets to try out to keep costs down. THanks for any help.
