Comments (9)I wouldn't worry one bit about using Jerve (owner of UNO pool plastering) I've known him for 20 years and he's always done great work. I've heard Wet Edge is a good product and although I haven't used it I've given it serious consideration recently. The Wet Edge Mfg's rep has been working me hard lately. I spoke with Jerve about a week ago and he told me he picked up ******* from ***** and his entire crew. This guy is an incredible applicator. On top of this he threw me a price that blows away my P-Tec pricing. This puts me in a awkward situation because I get preferential pricing from my P-Tec applicator because of my numbers. There are only a handful of builders who work off of the preferred price list. This is because of long relationships and lots of pools. If I make a move and it comes to them (and it will) that I'm using a competitors services and product I will be expelled from the club. My problem is that my biggest competitor (a friend for decades) and I both use the same P-Tec applicator and get the same pricing. We enjoy a lions share of our local market. I'd end up being forced to work off of higher incurred costs on my P-Tec construction projects and I've never been a fan of marketing JohnnyComeLately products at discounted prices. Comments (5)as someone who has PebbleTec i totally disagree with it being too hard on the feet. one of the biggest myths out there. we have teenagers and pre-teens, and lots of neighbors of all ages and shapes and sizes, and no one has complained of foot issues after many hours of horseplay in our pool. your feet get more "scuffed" on the pool deck than in the pool. in the pool you have the buoyancy of the water which holds your weight from hitting the bottom heavily, and the pebbles are tumbled, not ragged. to find out for yourself, stand in a pebbletec pool (with water) for yourself (if you go to see a color, a ptec owner will let you do that probably, just stand on the second or third step). and standing on it in water it completely different than standing on a tile dry on the ground, pressing all your weight into one little tile. also, there is an aesthetic component to pebbletec, it looks more rustic and natural. i thought we wre going with pebblesheen, but when i saw a pebbletec pool in real life, the decision was done....See MoreBedrock Granite. Anyone ever use it for their Kitchen?
Comments (7)desertsteph, I don't think that's it. If it's what I think it is, it's the one that looks like medium and large river rocks sliced and placed into the granite. What you found is a lovely stone and would look good and not too busy. In this area it is called Black Mosaic. I've seen it in a showroom or two but can't remember which one(s). If you search google images under Black Mosaic granite, you will find at least a couple of examples of it installed. IMO, it is busy, but would be nice if you wanted that to be a focal point. If you want the hickory to stand out, I'd go with something else....See More- 13 years ago
