Urgent - Faucet Placement Help

I am having my soapstone installed tommorrow, and am looking for some advice on the faucet placement and garbage disposal air switch placement.

My sink is a 33" wide undermount Franke, and my Faucet is a Delta Pilar, which uses two holed (one for faucet, one for controls).

Do I center the Faucet?

Do I have the airswitch flank the faucet like the Controls?

Do I put the airswitch over in the corner?

Are the holes for the airswitch the same size as a faucet?

Does anyone have any advice or pictures?

I have't done my kitchen yet, but I would mount the faucet in the center, with the control on the right (assuming you are right-handed), and I would put a soap dispenser (Never MT)on the left. I would also put the air switch on the left hand corner, since you will use your right hand to turn the water on/off for the disposal.

But I'm no expert.

I agree center the faucet and place soap dispenser/air switch to the left.

Putting in the blocking is a great way to plan for the future. The bars are a good idea at any age, but I understand not wanting to put all of them in till needed. One at the entry would probably suffice if you are not elderly or handicapped. I was very impressed with that You Tube Video on the Secure Mount. I went home yesterday to find they had already sprayed the bathroom walls. I'm not sure if the contractor's stud finder will be able to locate through the marble. If not, we'll just go with the Secure Mount. I returned the 9 inch curved bars, and am ordering the 24 and 18 inch bars after I see the marble install tonight. I wanted 36 inches for the long wall, but DH wants them shorter. My contractor said the marble has two corner shelves and one recessed soap/shampoo holder. I imagine that is rather long, so I'm hoping they didn't place that where it will interfere with the longer bar placed at an angle.

Thanks for the info. It is the K181. It looks as if the spout has several steps on the bottom--which would accomodate different sized holes. The bottom step fits in the spout hole (sort of) for our sink. I just does not go all the way down so that the next "step" rests flat on the surface of the sink. My husband was able to get it attached fairly securely. He also found an escutcheon that fits around the base of the spout (which was in the package, though wasn't listed in the install instructions), so the gap at the bottom is covered. Seems to function properly as installed, with no leaks. So I think we're good to go until we remodel that bathroom. I think those faucets are meant (ideally) to be mounted in a countertop with an undermount sink. It figures that the prettiest faucets are a pain to repair. However, what we had before were made by a company called "Epic" which is which has now gone out of business. We tried unsuccessfully to get compatible parts for the old ones, to no avail. At least Phylrich is still around. Thanks again for your response.

Thank you, SW! I was surprised to get a zero response on this board for so long. So, after a *long* wait and much struggle, I bit the bullet and ordered the 1425 yesterday. DH liked it better and it was sort of a safe choice. I think the color on the picture is a "turn-off b/ it looks brown, even though I know it'd be SS. I ordered the Linus too. I couldn't find any reviews but decided to take my chances. It is one of very few pull-outs that I liked in terms of style. KWS Livello is too high and the new Ono is unaffordable. :-( I keep reminding myself that it is just a faucet. I never pay any attention to other people's faucets... I know I'll have to live with it for a long time but I know I'd stop thinking about - unless it irritates me.

So this is the new faucet, correct: If you're right-handed, I approve of the idea of putting it on the left with the lever on the left. I had a similar faucet with lever on the left-hand side of the sink, and loved the position of the water spout but not the lever, which we put to the right of the faucet. I'd always wind up crossing under the water to turn it off with my left hand. So to be short, I like your plan. But do make sure this is possible with this model, and by putting the handle to the left you won't be having to push it back rather than forward to turn it on, etc!

So i figured out that the Insinkerator Sink Top Switch needs a 1.25" hole. What is the standard size hole for a faucet?

Should i have the sink top swith 2" to the left of the faucet?

What type of spacing would I use for the Delta Pilar?

I just had this done on Monday. My fabricator went over the different positionings and spacings. I liked having them farther apart. I think I choose soap left like we have now and insinkerator to the right. Also have the items on hand so you can see them "in real life".

Something I wish I'd noticed earlier ... I previously had a centered handle, but bought a gooseneck style faucet with a handle that could go on the right or the left. Since I'm right-handed, I had it installed to the right. However when I am at the sink I always hold the glass, or sponge, or pot with my right hand, and turn on the water with my LEFT hand. I've been here over a year and I'm still criss-crossing my hands the wrong way, and one of these days I'm going to switch it to the left.
