Is she De clawed? De clawed cats can have lots behavior issues/ from biting to peeing and litter box issues, - besides the operation itself which is no different then cutting off the tips of your fingers at the first digit with a steak knife.
If she's is De clawed then she's ruined/disabled for life, she has lost 75% of her defenses and can no longer excerise herself naturally

Besides this, it may just be personality flaw.

Well...I don't know about all that business regarding being declawed...I think cats are just "head cases". Ours has all of his claws, and still has psych issues. He NEVER pees anywhere. He poops! Most of the time in his litter box...but also in the sink or tub, or on beds. Never on the floor or table or anywhere else. I think cats just have a tendency toward some mental health issues.

Your cat is highly unnatural most cats don't do things like that- Cats evolved in a situations where to do that would be suicidal Predators would find them.

I bet your cat was taken from mother too early or has abuse issues before you got him, When did you get him? How old? Kittens shouldn't leave mom until at least 8 weeks old.

My cat is not declawed, was not removed from mom too early and she's been with me her whole life once she was removed from mom. She's a very moody cat though, and does some very moody things - so maybe this is just another one of her 'quirks' that add to her attitude.

Nicks mom - is your cat Siamese by chance?? My cousin and my friend both have male Siamese cats who inappropriately do their business, in bathtubs and sinks and such. And my friends also does his business on her bed, too.

Nope...he's an orange tabby, of the long-haired variety. We actually got him from my college son, who took him in as a stray...and called *him* Layla, thinking he was a she. When his pooping got to be out of hand, I took him in to the vet, who suggested that maybe he was suffering from an identity crisis over being called a girl all this time. They are finicky creatures....

I have a cat like that Munko's, Bindi, he often is grumpy and has bitten me before. Has hurt another cat too- territory thing- its just their temperment.

well.... you have interesting prob. most cats that have urination probs urinate more frequently. since she came out clean for UTI then it's behavioral. Notice if something is a little different around your house when she does it, or like you said she sprays when other cats are around. Sometimes other cats will spray your house. You may want to take a hose and spray the outside if you are able to. If it gets out of control. then you can always try medication. It's pretty much kitty prozac. It will make her more sleepy and will stone her some, but it will definitely clear up your problem. If something is stressing her out, the med will help her cope. You will most likely keep her on it for a year or so, then slowly wean her off and see can deal with the stress on her own. If not, then she will prolly be on and off if it her whole life. But you don't have to deal with cat pee either. Meds are relatively cheap and usually one bottle will last 2-3 months depending on the dosage your vet prescribes.

Thanks for the information - however I can tolerate her peeing on my pants once or twice a year enough that I don't feel the need to medicate her.

The only other thing I can think of is that her litter box is also in the laundry room - and perhaps our pants have a 'scent' on them that makes her feel the need to cover it because it's her space?

most likely that is your problem. cats are highly territorial. they also have a social system very similiar to wolves. she may be showing you who is boss. and by peeing on your pants she is saying get your stuff away from my area. or for some odd reason she might just like to pee on pants. it could be a million different things. since it's not that often, i wouldn't worry too much about it. if she does start peeing in other places and rooms, and more frequently i would consider medication. consider yourself lucky, i see people bring their cats in because they pee on there bed 2-3 times a day. cats are just quirky little animals, i have two and i still think half the stuff they do is crazy. i would try and pay attention to things that have happened around the times she does it. did you have strange visitors, did you change her diet or maybe give her a nibble of human food or milk? if you have people she sees all the time, did they treat her in a way she didn't like. it could also be her trying to tell you something. good luck.

one more thing... try moving the litter box. they aren't just picky about how clean or what type of litter. she may be telling you get my box somewhere else. she could hate the sound of the washer and dryer.

That's a good thought but her litter hasn't always been in there. Honestly other than medication, I have tried everything humanly possible to figure out her furry, moody little head, and I can't. Like I said, I can live with it - atleast she is peeing on things I can wash, and not something that is getting ruined more and more everytime she does it like the carpet or the couch or something. It's just the BF who doesn't like it.

I have been trying to pay attention to what is going on when she does, it but I haven't been able to put two and two together yet - maybe I should start writing everything down when it happens so I can compare - I forget details when the incidents are so far apart.

Actually Wolves are more like dogs- wolves have a far more social system system where only a domanent female and male breed,cat society is more like early early man, long before he domesticated fire or could talk - one large male,controlling a wide span of intermingling areas of females and young keeping other males out.. Non alpha males are allowed in a wolf pack, unless they break the laws and are driven out, or they may disperse to form other packs along with females.. if pack grows too big for the amount of prey,or there's not enough food/kills/ect. pack will often split up.

In cat society lone males live on the fringes of the lead tom and must either eck out a living away from him/under his notice or fight to replace the tom as he ages or injures. Females are owned by the breeding tom and will often have their kittens/litters killed by rival males to bring her back into season. They basically breed and breed until they cant do it anymore or are killed or die.
