Cleaning the bathroom. YUCK!

Everything. If I had to do this for a living, I'd starve to death. I can only tolerate "chores" by cleaning as I go and never let it become a major chore. When those times come I make sure I have the money saved to hire someone to come in and do the major cleaning. Such as windows and all those things formerly known as Spring Cleaning.

the one and only thing I can think of is cleaning the oven

Windows, I am the queen of streaks!

I seem to be struggling with all of them the last couple days. I am being lazy and unmotivated. After four chaotic, non-stop, weeks, I finally have some free time and I'm wasting it.

I'll go with bathrooms. That's what I should be doing right now and if I'd just get that done I think I'd find some motivation to move on with less distasteful chores.

OK. I'm not coming back until the bathrooms are clean.

Changing the kitty litter and picking up the dog land mines in the yard.

Floors, it is the most time consuming task I have. I treat myself to having it done, he was here yesterday to do them for me. They don't ordinarily do a small job like that but since they do the lady across the street they do my floors for me. I have him over once a month. If ironing is a household chore it would be what I hate the most. Haven't ironed since before Nov 2 because of my arm. I have been trying to wear things that don't have to be ironed.

Putting dishes away! Hate it!!! I'm 5'1" and it's a complete hassle even with a step stool. Hence...I married a 6'1" Mr. Domestication. :-)

Jodi-

I'm with Jodi, putting those dishes away...I don't seem to mind anything else...But then, I'm retired and I do things when I feel like it....We have 4 litter boxes and DH takes care of them....
Joann fla, If you lived closer, I'd do your windows....I actually like to do windows and have a magic cloth and get no streaks.....

Most all of it anymore. My apartment is so old and dingy, no matter how much I scrub, it never really looks "clean". It's discouraging to spend an hour scrubbing the kitchen floor and it doesn't look any better after than it did before. *sigh*
The bathtub and toilet both need to be replaced. Hard to get motivated to clean when it doesn't look like you did anything.

My carpeted stairs. Even though there's only 16 of them it takes me a good two days to get them clean. Give me toilets any day over this.

Decluttering, definitely!

I don't mind housekeeping, but I'm exhausted after spending 10-11 hours at the office. I pay a housekeeper, but if I had to choose among the remaining chores, it would be emptying dishwasher and putting dishes away. I'm 5'2", and it takes forever, especially when I have more dishes to load into it (and can't put it off!)

what's my least fave chore?? cleaning, period, lol...

Mopping my downstairs. It is terrible for me to do with my bad back, knees and shoulders. There was a time I would do it on my hands and knees, of course I can't do that any more. It is a very large area to be done.

Sue

Cleaning all four of my bathrooms. I always put it off until the last minute when they are ready to run out the door!
Deb

For all of you that hate emptying the dishwasher, this is how I made it fun....
I count my steps on the floor as I empty it, and if I can do it in less than 8 steps, I allow myself a break or treat outside. Then I go to 7 steps....and so on and so forth....
If someone can tell me how to make a fun moment out of scrubbing a toilet, I am all ears.

Dusting.

I don't like much of any of it. The only thing that gets me going is motivation. Got motivated last week because DSD and family are due in tonight and staying until Sunday.

Tuesday friends from Georgia are coming so I HAVE to stay on top of stuff--at least until next Wednesday. Not expecting any company after that.

DUSTING!!!

Toilets!! There are only 2 of us and I only use one toilet. It is not I who dribbles down the toilet bowel or completely misses it. LOL . When we both worked we shared cleaning, now we are retired there is no sharing. Shucks, I thought I would enjoy being old.\

Ironing! Just hate it!

Vacuuming.

Let's see, now ...

...dang! can'tseem to remember.

Sorry not to be more helpful.

ole joyful

P.S. Straightening, organizing, putting stuff back in place, I guess.

Grocery shopping!! I really have a very hard time with it. I only go every two weeks and it is a big order. Then I have to come home and lugg it into the house and then put it all away....then decide what to cook for supper!!
The other house hold chores I do as I go but I enjoy a "good clean" every so often.

Housework, period! Though I do enjoy a clean uncluttered house for the five minutes it stays that way.....

Marilyn Sue, I have knee problems, especially the twisting that moping entails. I bought a Bissel steam mop and it works just WONDERFULLY. Very light weight, a swivel head, does a great job with no cleaning solutions - just steam. I know there are other brands out there but from what I have read, they are much heavier to use that the Bissel brand of steam mop. I highly recommend it.

I would say that cleaning out the refrigerator is the most hated job. I don't know why I hate it so much or why I let it go too long - but there ya' go - I do. I'm fine about throwing away food that is past it's prime and keep up with that VERY well, but emptying it out to give it a good clean? I just hate it.

I used to rank cleaning the windows and screens as my most hated, but I solved that little problem by hiring it out twice a year. I will clean little spots that end up on them but the major job gets cleaned in spring and late fall by somebody else.

I wonder if he does refrigerators?? ;)
