I'm sorry, I do not have the shades you are asking about, but I know Jay does. I think I have the name right. I do plan on getting them for my bathroom windows. Are you thinking about putting something else with them, say panels? I ask because if you use the honeycomb shades I think you could use some panels in between and along side the windows. Can we see a photo of your windows?

I have them in Graber cellulars for our bedroom (no pic yet) so we can see out the top and have light, but neighbors can't see in, and I love them. It's a cool, kind of architectural look, IMO, even though I don't usually like cellular shades.

I'd do it again with no qualms. After all, you don't necessarily have to use them, it's just an option.

There are some pics at the Smith & Noble website of td/bu romans, I think. Not that you need to buy them there--but the pics are helpful.

I have them all over my current apartment and LOVE them!! I don't have any pictures to offer - but I also don't have any curtains up to show you how it would look (too cheap to spend it on our rental property!). I love having the options with the shades - lots of light but privacy or bottom up for the traditional look.

Here's mine. It's in my bath and I had to have something where I would not have to climb in and out of the tub every day. It's from smith/noble and I really like it. Most days it just stays like this. Much prettier IRL-green/brown bamboo.

Just looked at your post again-don't know what a triple/double hung window is but mine is a double with no casing in between them so the total width is about 53" across. In the morning I will try to take one with the shade up.

OOOPS-Did not realize at 5:30am that the subject line was so risque- But I am wondering if in my case with three- double hung windows that are connected to form one rather large window should I use one large/long top down bottom up shade (like bebetokids posted) or should I go with three separate shades next to each other?

I am thinking that one long window shade would kind of look like a wall, where as in my case of three windows, using three separate shades would break things up and look better.

I see advertisements for top down bottom up Roman shades-anyone with any real life pics of them?

I just looked at smith and nobels site and I see a set of coral roman top down bottom up shades. Now My window is three double hungs how do you think three individual shades would look as opposed to just one long one (about 96+ inches)? Thankyou

I have the top down bottom up Cellular Shades in my bedroom and in my home office. I love the Duette Architella Hunter Douglas Cellular Shades in my bedroom with the retractible cords. Since my windows are long in my home office, I really dislike the blinds Budget Blinds sold me a few years ago with the long strings that are always knotting and getting tangled and touch the floor. I love in my bedroom now I can have light with the top down and privacy as I get dressed and then I can raise all the shades up and close my sheers for privacy and light.\

Sorry that I don't have the Roman Shades but I am sure they would look nice.

I understand what you mean now by triple window-like mine is a double. Here is a pic of a double window I have that I put 2 shades on-there is no casement between the windows. It is not TD/BU but it shows how 2 blinds on one large window will look. I think 96" across will be a big blind and not one you want to move alot.

Hi - I don't have a camera handy to post pics for you, but please keep in mind all the cords that these types of shades use. For 3 shades next to each other, you'll have 6 cords! I have personally found that annoying, so if I were you, I'd do a single long shade rather than 3 separate.

Yes, mine are from Smith and Noble, and there is a cord on right to do "top down" and a cord on left to do "bottom up."

We have TD/BU cellular blinds on a triple set of double-hung windows in our bedroom (no picture, sorry). They are mounted inside the window frames, so they are all separate. We like them a lot. Each one has two cords, but I haven't felt the cords are a problem (though sometimes one of our cats plays with them!). I would think one big blind going all the way across would be more difficult to deal with.

I was wondering if I could use these with casements that have the crank on the bottom of the window. Do they have to allach to the sash?

bebetokids, I also had a double window that was quite wide and wondered wheter to get one or two shades. The shade people recommended getting two or one wide shade might become off balance. The hardware attaches to the top of the window frame, so no need for a piece of wood trim in between the windows.

I did not get top down bottom up type so I won't post a picture. But I did get the cordless and I really, really love that feature of not having all the dangly cords. My windows are crank outs, less than a year old. The old cranks protruded and could have interferred with the way the shade laid on the bottom. The new crank outs actually fold down pretty flat and the shades are perfectly straight all the way down.
