This was a life that had hardly begun
No time to find your place in the sun
No time to do all you could have done
But we loved you enough for a lifetime.

No time to enjoy the world and its wealth
No time to take life down from the shelf
No time to sing the song of yourself
Though you had enough love for a lifetime.

Those who live long endure sadness and tears
But you'll never suffer the sorrowing years
No betrayal, no anger, no hatred, no fears
Just love , only love , in your lifetime

Taken so sudden, on a dark winter night,
The Angels came down, for your last flight,
With God, in his Heaven, you now live,
Angels wings to you he give,
Too young you were, to leave this earth,
Now in a better place, for what it is worth,
Sadly missed by all who you knew,
For all that you gave us, we thank you,
Look down on us now, and help us through,
These sad, lonely days, thinking of you.

Housewarming basket poem

When someone moves into our neighborhood I give them a basket containing salt, a bottle of wine and a loaf of home baked bread. The card reads: Bread that you will never be hungry Salt to recognize that life can be difficult Wine for good health, good cheer and many friends I also give them a card with all the important phone numbers (including my own) and garbage/recyclable pick up schedule. Here it is, Jenni. Song on the Wind Take these windchimes that we give you, Hang them high up in a tree. Let the melody remind you, Of the spirit that is he/she. He/She would have wanted song, To come and fill our days. He/She would surely bring you laughter, If there was any sort of way. If he/she could, he'd/she'd grin that grin of his/hers, That crinkled up his/her eyes. That somehow owned a twinkle, He/She never could disguise. There's nothing to replace, The one we knew and loved. But we can listen for his/her song of joy, From the chimes hung up above. When you hear the wind pass through them, You'll hear a happy sound, The notes will fill your heart, And you'll know that he/she is around. Life Will Never Be The Same
We all take the miracle of life for granted
Our busy hectic lives see to it that there is never enough time
Only Jesus Christ knew where He came from and where He was going
All of us of this world are left to only our faith
How does life get so unbearable for someone who is loved so much
This eternal question will never be answered by those of us left behind
The pain cannot be expressed in words, but can be seen on our faces
A tidal wave of emotion fills our spirits with anger, grief, sadness, and love
I for one will take more time to listen, and spend less time talking
When faced with a choice I will no longer take the selfish option
How many times could I have changed my schedule so I could be there
Why does it take a tragedy for families who love each other to show it
I will spend the rest of my time on earth letting the people I love know it
This poem is meant not to blame ourselves, but to open our eyes
No mother, sister, father, or brother should ever have to go through this
Life will never be the same

Oh wow, these are all great. I'm going to send them to the bereaved family to choose which they like best. I like the last one, but it's up to them.
