hi my girl cat is about 6 yrs old and has just started to go thin about a week ago but shes got a really bloated stomach,ive took her to my local vet and they gave her a worm tablet. the next couple of days shes got worse shes still eating and drinking ok,and is walking around but shes very week and has started drooling from the mouth,its not foaming just clear drool and shes started meowing really load please could you help i have rung vets for there advice but they just say shes suffering and to put her to sleep. i love her and i dont no if shes going to get better or not please could you give me some advice, thanks...

It sounds like there is something missing from this story. How can the vet tell you over the phone to euthanize her? Has the vet explained what is wrong?

There are times, I am afraid, when all is done and the only way to allieve the animal's suffering is to humanly euthanize it. You do that because you love it and you want to end its suffering, and only you have the power to make that decision.

I am sorry if that time has come.

It is not time to post messages on the computer while your animal is suffering and needs your attention. I am sorry to have to say that. Please take care of your suffering cat.

Something is obviously wrong, but how do they know its not treatable if they aren't even looking at her?? She is still eating and drinking, but I wonder if she got into something bad? Is there something wrong with her mouth??? Did she get something on her tongue??? Does she have a bad hairball?? Is she going to the bathroom okay??? Maybe its time to consult another vet???? Please don't give up on her yet!!!!

All earthworms are beneficial to the soil. Unfortunately some introduced species are a bit too efficient in their activities and too prolific in their populations and create imbalances in the organic matter of some Northeastern native forests and woodlands, to their detriment. But in the home garden, all worms are beneficial and indicate a healthy amount of organic matter in the soil. I can contemplate all sorts of good reasons to screen compost and there is really no reason the presence of worms should deter you. The small ones will fall through the screening and larger ones can be tossed back into the pile or relocated to planting beds. It's all good :-) Here is a link that might be useful: earthworms

Not that it can't be done, but it's wiser to stick with the guy who waited for better weather. Ordering 2lbs, and losing half in transit because they shipped it regardless of weather it will take 3 months for the population to recover. Instead, waiting a couple weeks for the other guy to ship in good weather and starting with 2lbs alive would've put you at least a couple months ahead. At least you're getting "extras" *:o)

DG funny thing about the permaculture its something I always did but i didn't now it had a name till a few years a go when i found a book at a yard sale for a $1. To me it eas just a old way of doing things. I learned gardening from my grandma and great grandma and that was the way they did it so that is the way I do it. Besides i don't have the money to go buy a lot of stuff so i use what I have or can get for free or cheap when i have money. So far I've spent $215 on my garden over three years and $65 of that was for my satsuma I had to have it. When it warms up i will clone you a everbearing mulberry. I will let you know when its ready.

Look, I don't know what's wrong with your 'vet', but don't even consider euthanize her: I'm totaly agaist that because you NEVER know if she even has the smallest chance to be cured! I'd suggest you to try the wormer from the link below but consult about it with OTHER vet.

Why did the vet give a 'worm' tablet? Whatever you do, don't give medication for worms or anything to a sick cat. Get her to another vet ASAP.
