Leaky Delta Faucet...

In our master bathroom we have two Delta Classic Single Handle Centerset Lavatory Faucets (model # 520; installed in 2001). At one point, they were both leaking from the aerator.

Based on the troubleshooting guide found on the Delta web site and communicating with their Customer Service, I have flushed the main water line and replaced the seats and springs on both faucets. As a result, one of them stopped leaking. Since the other one was still leaking, i replaced the Ball Assembly as well as the Cam & Packing. Yet, the aerator is still leaking.

What else should I be looking at (and/or replace) in order to fix my problem? Should I simply replace the entire faucet? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As a process of elimination, try shifting the lever from hot to cold to see if the leak or rate of flow in affected.

If it is the same for both, then disassemble and slightly stretch the springs.
If only one leaks you may still have an impurity affecting that seat.

Or the seats may not be retracting correctly.

Also, assemble using faucet lube.

When you say the faucet is leaking from the aerator do you mean that the faucet is not shutting completely off and water is dripping from the aerator?

When you replaced the parts did you use genuine Delta parts or third party replacement parts?

I've wasted a lot of time using third party parts in Deltas. Real Delta parts resolved the problem.

Laticrete has a 100% silicone caulk in a very dark gray/black but can't remember the name. I ordered other color caulk online at the online sites Laticrete has listed. I just remembered, I think its called Raven.

Some joystick faucets have an adjustment to apply tension on the ball against the seal. I know Delta faucets do because they changed the design to eliminate that adjustment on my kitchen faucet. If you have a brand name faucet contact the manufacturer. Some have lifetime warranties and they will send you the parts you need to repair or upgrade the faucet.

The drip probably is a bad cartridge, would have to change out one or both of the cartridges, either the hot or cold, take off the handles to pull out the cartridges. The sprayer not working, either the hand sprayer itself is wearing out or broken, or there is a build up of scale in the spray end where the water comes out, or the diverter is going bad or scaled up and not working properly...diverter would be under the spout..Hmm..don't recognize the brand of faucet it is, would make trying to find parts difficult. maybe some of the other plumbing professionals that are on here (you know who you are) might recognize what it is. You may be better off just replacing the darn thing rather than trying to fix it. By the time you chase around town looking for parts, mess around with it and tear it apart trying to fix it you might as well just put a new one in. Try to go with a Moen or Delta, something that parts are easy to find.--TheCaptain

Are Hamat Faucets Leaky???

Our Hamat kitchen faucet (Rotem model) did give us good service for a long time, but recently developed a leak from the swivel end of the spout, I figured out how to remove the spout and find that there are three "O" rings that probably need replacement, so I'm on my way to the hardware store and get some replacements. Hoping that that will solve the problem leak. I actually don't see why not. By the way, the swing arm can be removed without shutting the entire water system.

As far as I can tell, it seems that it is the hot water part of the faucet that is leaking. Per your suggestion, I will try stretching the springs. I had not used faucet lube because Delta had told me not to.

Yes, by leaking from the aerator, I mean the faucet is not shutting completely off and water is dripping from the aerator. Yes, I did buy genuine Delta parts.

Swap the spring and cup from hot to cold and see if the problem moves.

When I tried stretching the springs, I noticed that one of them was o lot stiffer than the other. Since I had an extra set of seats, I decided to replace them one more time. Since then the leak has disappeared.
