Keeping Cats out of raised Beds
Comments (7)Lots of discussions that the search will pull up - some quite recently - with all kinds of suggestions. Just type 'cats' in the forum search bar. Fencing is the most common recommendation. If not the whole garden then small temporary fence around the newly planted area. My cats scoff at the various repellents so i just lay down pieces of chicken wire over newly planted boxes or garden spots till the plants sprout and then remove them. They don't like to walk on it. Now if it would only work for the armadillos! Dave...See MoreKeeping cats out of my flower beds!!!
Comments (8)rebrya, the motion activated sprayer does work, but the two I have are Scarecrow by Contech. I found them very customer friendly, when a small spring broke in one of them I called the company and they cheerfully sent a replacement spring free of charge, no proof of purchase or date purchased required and my product was a couple of years old at that point. Granule repellents can be effective although with newly installed plants it may have to be replenished somewhat often (thinking irrigation here, watering which will diminish the effectiveness). Critter Ridder by Havahart, the pet friendly people ;), is one I've found helpful. I feel your pain on having to spend gardening budget to control others household pets - having done the same and resented it. We've been at this location a year and a half now and have no wandering cats or dogs at all, it's wonderful. But, I've traded those for daily deer and chipmunks so think it must always be something that will need our attention, undo our gardening efforts.......See MoreHow to keep birds out of my yard without scaring away Hummers?
Comments (9)you might try animal repellent granules at the base of the tree the scent is very offensive to them if necessary you could also attach maybe a bird feeder made for the ground and put some in there too further up the tree YOU have a RIGHT to feel about your yard and birds etc any way you choose its NOT ur ignorance thats highlighted when someone ELSES attempts to shame or guilt you the granules and spray are sold by walmart...See MoreHow to keep cats out of my garden
Comments (6)Those noise repellers do work, my friend got one for his garden because he used to get unwelcome cats and foxes in his garden. They stopped coming in pretty quickly when he put the repeller up! So I think they are probably fine. I personally got some fence spikes that you pop along the top of your fence and find them to be very effective at stopping unwanted visitors getting into your garden! I get mine from this site, but I think you can also get the noise ultrasonic repellers here too if you prefer that. My order was delivered very quickly and wasn't too expensive either, so I think they're a good company. Here is a link that might be useful: Primrose Fence Spikes...See Moresylviatexas1
