How I wish that I could still drink tea! I can still smell the fragrance of good, fresh tea. I still have my 'accoutrements', stashed in the pantry for that day when a cup of tea won't upset my tummy.

So, what makes this tea special in your opinion? You have a very interested audience....though I can't drink it anymore, I do give special teas as gifts.

What would be your runner up black tea? I prefer a tea bag.

I don't mean to present myself as a tea connoisseur; I'm really not. In fact, I drink "real" tea only occasionally because I don't do well with caffeine.

To me, the Sri Lankan tea just tastes like really good tea. It's not flavored in any way; it's just one particular variety of tea, as far as I know. Taste is such a subjective thing . . . you might not feel the same way about it.

Ellen, I grew up drinking Red Rose tea from Canada. My Scottish relatives preferred it.

Rhizo, several Sri Lankan sellers offer teas on eBay. The one I purchased from sells several varieties from that same company, in different colored boxes. Here's an example, although they're apparently out of Nuwara Eliya right now. I'm amused at the name of the seller:

I usually just drink regular teabag tea, no particular brand. My MIL makes crocks of tea from loose leaf, but she puts soooo much sugar in it I haven't had a cup in probably a decade.

Anyhow, one flavored tea that I like is Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice. Absolutely love it.

Right now I'm drinking Irish Breakfast Tea from Trader Joe's. I also like Bigelow's English Breakfast but they seem to have dropped their 100 count box and replaced with a 50 for the same money.

We have a big Hong Kong Market here in Houston which has one entire long aisle that is nothing but various kinds of teas. Bags, loose every kind and variety that you an imagine.
I love iced tea but am not a big hot tea drinker.
They even had the bitter melon tea, I bought some to try since it is said to be good for diabetics. But it is very, well bitter. I can use a couple bags mixed with other good flavored teas and kind of hide the bitter.
My neighbor is a hot tea drinker and I am going to take her to the HK Market and watch her try to make decisions. She will love it.
They also have an aisle of different types of salts, all kinds of colors and textures and from various countries. I am a salt nut so I love trying various ones. Some in bags like sugar but clear so you can see the color and textures. When I boil the peanuts I also get there I buy a bag of their coarse texture salt to use.
I need to make a trip there soon I need some boiled peanuts.

we drink tea mostly green all the time...but my fave (esp as I can't take tums. ect) is peppermint...and found a good evening sip...use sugar free creamer (about a tsp or so) and the peppermint...it's like a dessert....

I drink ice tea year round, constantly have a glass in my hand or near by. My very favorite tea is Royal Cup Tea. I order if from their web site. You can get 1 gallon bags or loose tea. I buy the loose, I get 40-4oz bags of loose tea in a case. It is the most delicious tea that is a deep red in color and never ever gets cloudy. Cracker Barrel and Chic-fil-A serve Royal Cup Tea, I'm not sure what other restaurants serve it. It's my tea of choice for sure. If I call in the order they always give me free shipping too.

My DH makes us both a mug of tea every evening. We like Earl Grey or Constant Comet.

I do own a metal tea ball....occasionally I buy loose sassafras.

I think it's Constant Comment tea, Nicole. But I like the image of Constant Comet better. :-)

I have 2 cups of green tea every morning,but during the day I drink lots of other flavors,i have one shelf in my cabinet that's just for teas.

I think my favorite is The original Good Earth,sweet and spicy.I like them both hot or cold.
