Yes, many time. I used to seal my windows, on the old trailer, for the winter with it.
Also, I have a yard cart/wheelbarrow type thing that cracked in the front, and I taped it for the past 2 years.

Yes, I use it to tape my feet when I wear my walking shoes. I get blisters every time I buy new shoes and have to tape my feet, the duct tape works better than band-aids and keeps me from getting blisters. This is why I mostly wear flip flops ;o)

I have to hide the Duct Tape from Dean. It is his favorite tool.

We have a cabinet door in the Motorhome that comes open when traveling. Dean uses Duct Tape to keep it from opening. The Jet Ski's Trailor has a screw missing on the license plate. He duct taped that up.

In some situations it does not hold very well. It seems to work best when it is wrapped around something and resticks to itself. The tape I really like is called Plastic Tape, about 1" wide and comes clear and in colors. Now that stuff holds--I even fixed an aquarium part once (dry), put it under water and it held for months.

Oh yeah- I have used it. I use a small piece sometimes to draw the tip of a rose thorn out of my fingers too. So far it works if the tip is not real deep or of course infected. I never use it when a knuckle or joint is involved.

No, I have not used duct tape very much, when things are broken here, even duct tape won't fix it! I do have some someplace in a drawer though.

Oh, does this ever bring back memories of a dear sweet lady. We had a neigbor lady that loved duct tape. One time she taped up a box (when I say she taped I mean it) for a stray cat. It was surprising how long it lasted. She bought a doll stroller at a garage sale for a buck and taped it all up. One year I bought her a "BIG" roll of duct tape for Christmas. We got a huge laugh out of this.. I sure do miss her.

Many times. Currently the ear piece to my glasses is taped on. These are old glasses that I wear at home and frequently fall asleep in and roll on.

Many times. Last time was when I backed out of my garage and knocked one of my side mirrors off my car. Didn't have the money then to fix it so I drove around with it duck-taped on. It didn't work too good, though, kept flopping over.

I knew it was spelt duct....lol.

Ohhhhh Yeaaaaaah! It's our family motto. "If you can't fix it with Duct Tape, it ain't worth fixing!". My FIL once fixed the drian pipe from an upstairs bathroom sink with it. It worked great for years and years, until his DD & her DH used draino to unclog that sink. They owned the house by that time, with a drop cieling in the kitchen below. They didn't know it had been fixed that way until the draino melted the duct tape and went thru the ceiling! He had also fixed the washing machine drain pipe that way.

The company that makes it is only about 10 miles from here.

My poor camera has seen better days but it still work pretty good despite being dropped. The battery case no longer locks so I used black duct tape to secure it. Probably should have used silver but I figure if some wannabe thief looks at this camera and sees all that black tape he might feel it isn't worth stealing. :-)

LOL I...quite literally...couldn't afford to live without it. I have it in several colors and it's a continuing solution for a multitude of problems. I've used it to repair broken book spines...cover drafty duplex outlets during the winter time when nothing else will work...seal around drafty windows...hold the screen door handle lock up so I don't accidentally lock myself out of my home [again]...as a label on surfaces where nothing else will stick...repair broken garden tool handles...as a bandaid...of course...all the usual electrical/mechanical/plumbing applications...and even repaired a sagging hem when I had no time to stitch it.

I agree with Tami. "If you can't fix it with duct tape.....!"

A really good friend of mine *wink* used it to fix her old garden sweats in the inner thigh area where it has rubbed thin. They were gray sweats so it didnt show at all. She told me it has held up though dozens of washings. I need to go buy her a new pair poor gal.

One of my cactus's fell on my arm one day while i was moving them around.I had hundred of the spines in my arm that were burning,felt like my arm was on fire.I went in the garage,got the duct tape and sat on the patio and put on and pulled off several strips before i got them all out.

2 years ago when my ggd was visiting here she was at that running age,1 1/2 to 2,and she'd always come running in my sewing room to be with me,and i was afraid she'd run into the corner of my desk.So what to do~~~~~~~~~~~duct tape to the rescue,i kept layering it on til the corner was completely padded,Sure did work good,and didn't leave any residue when i pulled it off.

The funniest thing i ever saw was when my gd was a baby.I watched her from the time her dad went to work til her mom got home.One day i went to change her,pulled her pants off and all i saw was duct tape,i laughed so hard i couldn't get her changed for a few minutes.DS said the velcro on the diaper wouldn't stick,so that's why he used duct tape.

It's a required staple here at our house!!!

Should I tell you why I call it the "Bachelor's Sewing Kit"? When I showed my secret sewing to people they laughed like crazy, but admitted that it DID work! And it outlasted the suit, btw.

Yes, duct tape, (aka "Handyman's Secret Weapon", "Silver Miracle", "a Roll of Bolts" "Grey Gold", "Homeowner's Cure-ALL" and assorted other names!) Oh I couldn't name a fraction of the times I've used that wonderful sticky stuff to repair, replace, modify and improve things, right down to using it to identify my tools from co-workers.

A friend shared a time he was helping his uncle work on his farm and the tractor engine died. Nice hole knocked in the engine block. Long story short, it was repaired with duct tape sufficiently well to drive it back to the garage!

Would life be worth living without bacon, beer and duct tape? Hardly. It even fixed the space shuttle!

But again I'll say, that I don't mind "designer" duct tape, in black, white, red, and even camoflage. But I draw the line at "mauve" duct tape! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Once used it and a big wad of chewing gum to mend a hole in a canoe! LOL It worked, at least until the end of the float trip and that's what we needed!

Oh yeah! Tmeporary patch ups with duct tape has gotten me back home or out of the outback several times. It is true that it can not stick to surfaces wet with gasoline, antifreeze, and several other liquids, but when you are sesperate, you improvize.

I had a heater hose to crack while out in the 'bush'. By wiping the hose as best as I could, I was able to make a patch by making many overlapping wraps of tape and relieving the coolant pressure by loosening the radiator cap. I mde it back to civilization.

Stopped stuff from rattleing while on a long road trip.

Taped over the ends of the bars of roof top carrier that was whistling. That stopped the whistle. It was at the beginning of a long road trip and I did not have the time to amke a permanent cure. That saved at least one day of vacation.

During a trip, we shipped back to ourselves some boxes holding very heavy items. Got out the duck tape and reinforced the boxes.

On a 3 day campout, my lightweight tent got a small rip. Duct tape held this together until the trip was complete (and was rain tight, too).

Have made tags to identify wires under the hood of my car. Comes in handy if these wires have to be removed during a roadside repair.

Put a piece of duct tape on wallboard, before drilling a hole through it. It keeps the edges of the wallboard from fraying.

Have to start a screw in an inaccessible place? Push a the screw through a piece of duct tape and hold the screw to the screwdriver blade with the tape.

I can't remember a specific thing recently. But I know I have done like Jodi and taped a battery cover shut (maybe on a GameBoy) and held a broom handle together or something. Someone in our neighborhood "fixed" their mailbox with duct tape recently. Shoulda taken a picture, it was funny! The box had been knocked off the post and they propped it back up and wrapped the heck out it with duct tape.

DH and I tease the kids that we'll keep them still or quiet with duct tape. But it's always a joke. One day in a waiting room a little girl about DS's age (4-5 at the time) was working the room, talking to everyone, coming right up to strangers and asking a million questions. Her dad kept telling her to stop, leave people alone, sit down. My DS walked right up to her dad, gestured toward the girl, and advised the dad, "Duct tape will fix that."

The dad laughed so hard he had tears in his eyes instantly, he was choking on that one. Other parents were snickering. I didn't know if I should laugh or hide!

Oh yea, we have lots of it here around our house.
Our youngest son uses it for everything. I hate to admit it, but for his senior prom at high school I made him a duct tape tuxedo. It was quite amazing. I bought a pattern for a real tuxedo, and used light weight cotton and cut out all the pieces and then covered them all with duct tape. Taped all my pieces together. It was quite amazing. Very HOT to wear though.Turned out very good. People did not know it was duct tape from a distance. Had to get quite close to him before they knew what it was. A few years later I made a prom dress for my niece, and a tux for her prom date. These also turned out real cute.
