Comments (31)nutmegxo- I have the embroidered coverlet and a duvet cover whiched I alternate using for my main covering and the euro shams also in the embroidered pattern. My dust ruffle is the satin in champagne, but I will honestly tell you, I did not like the way the dust ruffles are attached. They are attached by a strange type of straight pin which were very difficult to attach. Not only that but the part that was attached to the box spring, tore in several places. The dust ruffles themselves are beautiful, but they way they are attached is not a good idea. Even velcrow would be better. The wallpaper that I was looking at was F&B and the minimum order is 3 rolls, making the price around 900.00. Way too much for one wall! I love yours and may start looking again. It really does make a statement! I love the direction you are going and the color is great!...See MoreWallpaper. What do you think of this?
Comments (18)I do like the paper.... I think what I lack is confidence. This is my first home, and I'm just now attempting to make careful, thoughful, big picture decorating decisions. I second guess myself.... I saw that paper, loved it, and immediatley thought "maybe I'm wrong..". Les, lol, you really analyzed it more than I did. I think I reacted more to the general feel & color of that paper. Maybe the cherub & the bird are just playing... :) And Spy10021 - that room is georgous. Those beds are to die for. And your flooring too. I'm going to go look at your other photos also. I will definitely order a sample before I use anything, might even try to find something local. Not til after the holidays though, too much going on right now. Thanks all!...See MoreWhat is Your Position on One Wallpapered “Feature Wall” in a Room?
Comments (72)Cran, I am usually the one who needs a fire lit under me! Arapaho I also gravitate towards greens and yellows and those are the predominant colors downstairs. I made a concerted effort upstairs to use blue and white and taupe in the main living area and secondary bedrooms. Tina, part of the reason I wanted to leave off the chair skirt is because I wasn’t sure I have enough fabric for it. A large plaid or pattern repeat means just a club chair skirt can take 3 yards of fabric! So after I saw the bed I called the upholsterer and told him to leave off the skirt and change the legs to turned ones. It was a question of necessity as much as happy coincidence....See MoreHelp me pick a wallpaper for my powder room!
Comments (45)I will disagree with Jan. Doing one wall in paper can turn out nicely and allow for a busier paper than would otherwise be comfortable, especially in a small space. I have hung wallpaper in many rooms myself including those I've pasted and those that were prepasted, but I've never done peel and stick. I'm not sure how it would work as, part of hanging paper, is being able to slide it so that you can get the seams to line up perfectly so they don't show. With it sticking on contact, I would think that would make it much harder. If you do decide to paper yourself, make sure you book the paper (folding each strip glue side to glue side and letting it rest). Also I've found that the fuzzy part of a paint roller, not in the handle, is a great smoothing tool...it allows you to apply enough pressure without scratching the paper at all. And absolutely prep the walls before hand or you will hate yourself when you decide to remove it....See MoreRelated Professionals
