Reviewing my refrigerator shopping notes
Comments (2)If you like Whirlpool and don't want to spend extra for an extended warranty, consider the Ikea refrigerators which are made by Whirlpool and include standard 5-year warranties. For $700 (or $750 for stainless steel) you can get a top-freezer fridge with an internal icemaker. It's a fairly basic unit but it does have glass shelves in the fridge section and 3 clear vegetable bins. No light in the freezer but the small space should get adequate illumination from ambient kitchen lighting. You didn't specify what the maximum width or height is in your space; this one is 28" wide. By the way, Maytag was bought out by Whirlpool almost a decade ago and current Maytag refrigerators are just rebranded Whirlpools. So is Amana, Kitchenaid, Jenn-Air, some Kenmores, and several other brands. Comments (14)Your house is terrific. If you lived on a city street with sidewalks a "front" door would be useful for visitors. Looking at your home you have a country lot and guests will be driving around to the back where you have an amazing porch. I would just add windows for light in the master. Unless opening the windows for airflow is an issue, I would add non-functing windows ( 20x60) near the ceiling so the light would flood the room but the road view and noise would be limited. This also allows for better furniture placement in small rooms. Forget about Feng Shui unless she pays rent you need to worry about room size. ( By the way - This is my opinion and not worth much : ) Items to address - Moving the door into the mudroom as far away from the fridge as possible - look like a traffic jam is possible when cooking and the family is coming and going! The door to the second bedroom opens right into the closet wall making the entrance into the room tight. Would you be willing to sacrifice a little space in this bedroom and make this a full wall length reach in closet?...See MoreFeng Shui center of home blocked by wall
Comments (19)I see Cherle moved your bed where it should be and how my own bed is positioned. You should be able to see the door from the bed, and also see there is no position in your bedroom where your feet would be in a direct line to the door in your bedroom except at an angle in the corner. It's a survival thing imprinted in our DNA and when you can't see what's coming through a door the subconscious is never at ease. Where Cherie put the bed you can now see whats coming through the door to react quicker, grab your sword and go kung fu on the intruder and able to flee or fight. I've found if you understand why the rules of fengshui are used it will make more sense and easier to understand. The energy flow from the door to the back door is actually the escape root to flee if evil (intruder) comes through the entrance doors so you want a clear path and not trip over clutter and get caught by the boogie man. Move a chair a few feet from the front door with your back to the door. Sit there at night and see how creepy if feels. In a restaurant watch where people sit when they have a choice, they pick the tables where they feel safe and secure , fengshui choices are made by people every day of there life without even knowing it....See Moreformerlyflorantha
