I am fairly new to this forum and have enjoyed browsing through all of the lovely kitchens and reading the comments but I have yet to comment myself. Until now...I must tell you- I LOVE your kitchen!! It's my 'dream' kitchen! We are getting ready to do a full remodel of our kitchen and I am completely stuck on the cabinets. Due to our budget, we have selected Mid Continent Cabinetry and I cannot decide on a door style!?! :-\ Would you mind helping me select a door style that would be similar to yours? I can't exactly tell from the pictures just what yours look like and since every company offers something different, I'm just not sure which one to go with! I am considering the Adams with the 5-piece drawer option (least expensive) in the Traditional door style, the Concord (mid-expensive level) or the Mission (most expensive) both with the 5-piece drawer option in the Simple door style. oh, definitely love the hardware--especially after seeing it with your beautiful range! i love your oven hungryheart!!! hardware ties in so nicely with it, and i seriously wouldn't change a thing. oh..to answer your ?, my hardware was from restoration hardware. one of the few things dh picked, orginally i picked a handle kind a similar to yours called this one called Ephram, a lot of gw'ers have them and fell in love (i like chunky hardware!!) and i was also considering the "bistro" (again chunky!) but dh wanted the hanson ones anyway, glad to see you moved on to your backsplash now lol!

I think the answer to this question is definitely regional in the short term. Our Parade of Homes didn't showcase all ORB kitchens. There were a couple. (There were also a couple tuscan/ceramic, eclectic/anthropologie-looking, several modern/stainless steel looks, etc. It all varied.) In some parts of the country, brass is popular, apparently? Brass is still "out" here and that doesn't appear to be changing any time soon. In the long term, I think it just depends on the style of your home/decor. Like joyjoyjoy, I view ORB as closest to the antique cast iron look. To me, ORB will always fit in a vintage kitchen or old home. It doesn't matter about the trend.

I had the same problem. My kd made the cabinet for a 30" farm sink which I do love. I do not have a window above my sink so i too wanted the faucet to be special. I went to many plumbing supply houses and decided to go with the Rohl Bridge faucet. Well, when I went to place the order the man told me that the finish is a "Living Finish" and Rohl does not warrenty the finish.... So I had th switch. Then I decided that I need a side spray to wash out the sink and pots and pans. Again I was on a search for a side spray and a bridge..... Well I found one by Blanco it comes in many finishes including the ORB. It has this neat diverter switch in the center so you can use just the side spray with out turning on the faucet.....I hope this helps.
