I finally finished the makeover of the Victorian chair I bought a few months ago for DD's room. I not sure if you'd call this shabby chic or not: it's painted, but I decided not to distress it and the fabric for the cushion is an auqa faux fur (not the more typical pink or floral).

It will be paired with this desk which will be painted white which I just started working on today.

I was ambivalent about painting it and the desk, but DD wants them painted and both desk and chair were pretty beat up so decided to go for it.
