Tubs installed with a 90 degree return?

I am helping my 77 year old mother choose materials for her bathroom remodel. She is concerned about being able to step in and out of the tub easily, and it looks like the Kohler Villager or Bellwether would fit the bill in that regard.

Does anyone know if these tubs lend themselves to being installed with glass doors that have a return (link below)? My mom will need a right hand drain tub, and would prefer this type of installation. Since it will be installed with a return, it will only butt against 2 walls and not 3 as it would in an alcove installation. Will an alcove tub still work?

Also, I'm not well versed (yet!) on what certain tub features mean -- can someone please explain to me what a tub with an integrated flange is? Thank you!

Here is a link that might be useful: tub enclosure with return
