Fori- That's not exactly what I was remembering, but does sounds like another possibility. It would be so much easier with pictures, but all I've found are the quarter moon, 50's shelves...and they're too plain.

are you referring to a scroll work shelf? Not dowels at all, but it does fit the "Fancy carved" part.

Google "vintage corner shelf" and see if you can find something that is close to what you are looking for.

No, it's like little turned dowels, connecting the outside edge of the shelves, but it doesn't go through them. It's still easy enough to put a plant on the shelf, but it was a pretty little detail. Maybe more Victorian cottage, than the scallops etc. you see later on?

Obviously, I am not an artist, but maybe this will give you all some idea. Forgive the purple crayon, my scanner wouldn't read the picture.

The shelves are little quarter circles, with fancy curved (dowels?) connecting the shelves, but the dowels would be closer to the middle of the curve. They're very cute and rather delicate looking, just big enough for an African violet or small pot of herbs.

This is all I can find, but it's still not quite right. The ones I saw were a little more old fashioned and delicate, but it's the same idea.

This first picture is probably the closest, but instead of the supports under the shelves, they were more dainty, with the carved dowels, providing the support. Sort of like the end of the peninsula, in the second picture, but much nicer detail (and smaller).

Lavender, I've been scouring Houzz and FKB and have completely struck out. The only window shelves I found were the usual plain quarter round. I couldn't find any with embellishments. :(

I'll keep my eyes open this weekend when I take breaks from the chores.

LL, I'm glad you found what you were looking for, but to me it looks better with the decorative supports off to the side, like macybaby's example, so you can see the display item better.

Those would be super easy to make, but I doubt you'll find them to purchase.

With the one I posted, the top and bottom dowels are added, and they could be left off easy enough.

Long ago I bought a whole bunch of decorative dowels to make some fancy "birdcage" type feeders. I even bought a drill press so I'd get straight holes. Maybe when I finally get done with the kitchen I can start making stuff like that again.

Thank you everyone for helping me with this! After finally finding a picture, it's convinced me to put these shelves on either side of the sink, in the pantry.

I don't think I'm going to have enough light from the kitchen window and they're such delicate little shelves, I think they would look better in my sort of butler's pantry. (Nice pantry, but no butler) LOL
