edited to add - around here liquor stores are closed on Sunday and liquor isn't sold in the grocery stores.

You can sure buy it by the drink, even if you can't by the bottle here. Would that qualify it?

Blfenton, for some reason, I thought beer and liquor was sold in your grocery and corner stores.

Here in Ontario the LCBO (Liquor stores) and Beer stores are running ads against stores selling it. There's talk (again) of privatizing liquor sales.

jasdip - the plan is to try to do so by, I think, mid 2015. But the requirements are very stringent. The liquor area has to be completely separate from the grocery area and the store can't be within so many (I can't remember how many) kilometers from an existing liquor store.

I think in the Vancouver area only one grocery store qualifies.

Newspapers popped in my head first, but also thought about my father's weekly Sunday morning ritual of buying rolls and bagels from the bakery on Sunday mornings. In Brooklyn, NY, this was a very common practice....and it's memory is making me hungry. :o) Brooklyn had the best bakery goods I've ever tasted!
