When I lived in the Dallas house we had a roadrunner that was enamored with me or my dogs or cats not sure which but every day it would come to the pool patio and tap tap on the window, they went to the floor, and it would keep doing that till I came over and talked to it. Then it started bringing me treats, grasshoppers, other bugs etcetc. It would leave them right at the window where I could see it. It was always hanging out around the pool but never in it, it would get on the waterfall and drink. I loved that bird!

While we were in London last year, someone pointed out that there was a Harry Potter exhibit at King's Cross Station. Harry Potter fans will know that he goes to Hogwarts School of Magic via King's Cross. So first photo is pointing to the sign to get to Platform 9 3/4. I lined up with 10 - 12 year olds (lol!) at the exhibit for the second photo, "running" with a luggage cart through the wall to get to the train.

I love your daffodils, bigack! Daffodils and grape hyacinths are my very favourite spring flowers. Don't care for tulips....

Jodi .....DH & I went to the Colorado Monte Vista, crane festival....there was an alligator farm nearby too.....with rattle snakes, peacocks, ducks and such that I've been posting. This pond should have been full of sandhill cranes overnighting. They spend the night in the water so foxes and coyotes have trouble getting to them. During the day, they fly across the street to farmers fields....where the fields have been "seeded" just for the cranes. :0) This year the cranes had NOT arrived by the thousands as in past years.....so we were a little early. :0) It's a migration path.

Nicole, thanks for the filling us in on the photo. What a drag you missed the majority of the cranes. Would love to go to the crane festival some year. Wouldn't even mind seeing the alligator farm. Love animals of all types. well, except mosquitoes and ticks. :-)

The elementary school at the end of our street "seeded" their playground just for the flocks of Canada Geese that fly through here. :-) It's an awesome site though to see bunches of geese populating the school's field and spilling out onto the sidewalk and street in the middle of a residential area. Some of the males stand in the middle of the street with their lady and try to stop cars from passing by holding out their wings. I don't know of any that have been hit, it's a street feeding three cul-de-sacs so not much traffic. But I have gotten out of my car to move the geese on so others could pass. We have the same problem with Egyptian Geese.

Jodi...Canadian geese are in "all" our parks here. ;0( and on the golf courses.......they have become a problem. As have snow geese in Bosque Del Apache in New Mexico.

We were told by a wild life authority in New Mexico they are going to schedule a mass killing to rid themselves of snow geese, since they're not native.

I hope he eats the slugs, Ron. They are a plague to my hostas and I often wonder how other people grow them so successfully.

Nicole, I can certainly see how the geese can become a problem. I have to wonder if they bother the kids when it's recess time. This is the first time in the 32 years we've lived in our home that I recall ever seeing Canada Geese populate the school ground. They appeared the day after the entire field/lawn had been reseeded about 2-3 months ago and have not left. The lawn still looks fine but I'm surprised there is even a single blade of new grass coming up.
