Ours are recessed panel white with pewter glaze. They were available off-white, but we didn't care for the pewter glaze on that color. White/off-white cabs other than shaker and raised panel are out there, it's just that those seem to be the more popular styles. Hope these pics help!

recessed panel (Shaker is a subset in this category),

and flat panel slab doors.

What exactly are you looking for?

There is also bead board doors, ship lapped doors with or without bead & tongue & groove doors, again with or without bead.

I agree it is hard to find. I could not find any slab
door type that were not modern. Everything is either
full of trim or details or raised panels or inset.

As Hollysprings pointed out, there are only three types of cabinets but there is variety within those types. I think you know you don't want raised panel or flat panel (contemporary) so I would do a search on Houzz.com for "creamy recessed panel cabinets" and see if you like anything you see.

You have given us a difficult assignment.
Do you have an inspiration picture that might give us a sense of the look you are trying to achieve.

Hi mjtx2, It would also help us find images for you if you let us know if you want frameless, inset, framed, full overlay, etc.

We have just ordered our cabinets, from Medallion and have chosen the Venice Door style, which has a miniscule raised panel, almost flat. I liked it because, like you wasnt' a fan of raised panel but wanted something with depth, but not as much as a recessed panel.

We are having ours finished in Divinity White for perimeter and gingersnap (medium toned finish) for the islands.

Okay, you guys are *really* good. Clearly the modified recessed panel is the way to go - when I see them on whole kitchens, as you've posted in pics, I get a much clearer idea than just seeing one cabinet door - as you get in a showroom or catalog. Very helpful and I thank you and encourage more ideas if anyone wants to share them!

mjtx2 - As we discussed offline, you have some phenomenal cabinetmakers down the road. I have seen kitchens and other cabinetry from these artisans in a variety of styles.

There is a wide variety of recessed panel doors out there. But, be aware that one of the reasons that shaker is so popular is that it is a budget friendly choice. It's not a very complicated doorstyle to create. When you get into applied moldings, or curved stiles and rails, or routed profiled stiles and rails, you start increasing the costs. Some of these KM doors shown below can easily be double the cost of a simple white painted shaker kitchen.
