Look into Grazia Rixi crackle tiles!

If you are worried about the stark white with the off-white cabs, there are a lot of off-white tile choices. I am using Tilecrest crackle bisque subway tiles with off-white cabinets. I almost picked a darker color, almost khaki, which looked great with the cabinets and granite, but then didn't work with the paint. Didn't want to change the paint choice, since that also had to work with furniture in the adjacent room so went with the off white. They are supposed to start the backsplash today, so maybe I will be able to post some pics tonight. Sonoma tile also makes a crackle subway tile, but it was more than 2x the cost of the tilecrest. Since I could only tell the difference up close, I opted for the less expensive field tile and a pretty expensive mosaic for behind the range that wouldn't have fit the budget otherwise.

I have BM Dove White cabinets and I am having the Rixi cream tiles installed next week. I have giallo ornamnetal, which turned out to be be browner than I wnated. I am hoping the Rixi tiles will be a good transition. jrueter, I am interested to see your backsplash photo!

Here is my backsplash in progress. The last picture has the mosaic which will be set on a diagonal in a frame behind the range, and the subway tile laying on the granite. HTH

I'm also a fan of the Rixi tiles. They're very pretty, and somewhat smaller than a traditional subway (21/2x5). Hopefully I'll have a backsplash in a few weeks and I'll be able to show you.

I am also a big fan of the Rixi tiles. Ourbacksplash was installed last week, and I think it turned out great. Hope tohave photos of the finished kitchen soon. We went with the Crema color and the were an almost identical match with the cabinets.

jrueter: I am having Rixi tiles put in next week. My cabinets are BM Dove White and my granite is giallo ornamental. Didn't realize how brown my granite was! I am hoping that the Rixi Crema tiles will help bridge the two. Your bisque tile looks exactly like your cabinet color in your photo. Are the tiles actually darker?
I am crossing my fingers that the tiles will look OK with my cabinets.

the tiles and cabinets are a pretty darn near match, but they do look different in different light, sometimes the tile does look slightly darker. I went back and forth a million times on tile and tile color but never had a "this is it" moment so I finally picked a very simple (some will consider it bland) background. I feel it is like the proverbial "little black dress" where I can change out accessories to suit the season and my mood.

Ellendi - please post pics when you are done - it sounds like a great combination.
