We're getting an oriental rug also. Maybe I should look at those now and find a color in it to put on walls. I just don't want the sofas to stand out very much. Our paintings are all antique and equestrian in nature. A horsey look if you know what I mean. I will look up the Squash color and others suggested. Our dining room is terracotta with old, mossy green trim so I need something that will go with that as well. That's why I am leaning toward the earthy caramel/brick reds. I think I am getting into a color range here that I can live with. It's just a matter of keeping on looking until the fireworks goes off. I want to really love it. We've waited a long time to be able to get the love seat and sofa of our dreams. I just thought it would be saddle leather, not oxblood. I so appreciate your input. More tomorrow.

We recently ordered some new LR and DR furniture from JCP.com and I wanted to post that we are very pleased with the quality and look of them. We have a 30 Tudor so wanted a traditional type look. I ordered the Bellagio Leather and as stated in the ratings, it is a very nice quality and looks even better than I expected in person. Very comfy although firm and a bit high seated (but hubby is 6'4 so he really adores it.) Was sale priced under $800. We ordered the Cervon DR table. There was another set I really wanted more but it was too large for our space and I worried the wood on the table would not coordinate w/ the other woods in our house. We made the right choice. The seats are firm, the pedestal is extremely solid (and HEAVY). The black of the table and the brown of the sofa really match well (another concern I had.) Dining table/ 4 chairs was also sale priced under $800. We did place our order at the Catalog Dept, which allowed us to 'save an add'l 10% by opening a Penneys CC acct.' This covered shipping costs almost exactly. So, again, not sure if this info will help anyone but I seem to post questions in which I need help so I wanted to contribute something that hopefully someone will find worthwhile. Thanks for your guidance, P, APO & Latifolia.. Apple Pie...Think I'll enclose part of my back deck instead! Photo of current tiny bathroom, entrance on left side of hallway is what I'm dealing with. Blocking off that hallway to extend for full bath would ruin the openness of my home and the only place to expand is beyond where the toilet is right now. Anyway...I will Never buy another home. This is my forever home as a single, just-retired woman My life-blood centers around home improvement, no better neighborhood in my tough city.. ...and I have a seasoned pro who wants to do my projects at no-cost labor. The couch in the last picture is too large for the room. Which way do the French doors swing? Will you be opening/closing them? Try the other couch facing the FP (put it just past the window bank) with a chair on each side of the FP. OR put it on the window wall with a chair to the right of the FP and the other chair to the right of the French door opposite the windows. Please post a picture of the actual room.
