Size of oil/spice pull out with inset cabinets
Comments (1)We have inset cabinets and have 2 different spice pull-outs. I am measuring the actual Rev-a-shelf pull-out (not the cabinet size). The small one is for spices/oils next to the cooktop. It is 8'' and more than enough space for our needs. The larger one is next to our pantry and I use it for baking items. It is 11'' and if I had the space, I would make it larger, but at least it is additional pantry storage. I think 18'' sounds like a big spice pull-out. I don't think two 9'' ones would be too small. Here is the 8'' one: Here is the 11'' one:...See MoreStorage of spices if no pull-out/spice drawer?
Comments (31)loves2cook- I love the test tube rack. Since it was a gift I suppose it is hard to ask her how she likes it. What a great gift! WILL you be my friend????? My only concern would be putting it down and having it roll away....See MoreLower cabinet appliance pull out? Or....
Comments (7)Hi Justmake it, the kitchen isn't huge! It's just that the space where I'd use them is on the opposite end of the kitchen! It's 10x16 :) I suppose I could lug them from the pantry and use them more nearby but that would mean displacing the coffee setup. I'm pretty happy with my current storage. There are some things I'd do differently now that I've lived with it for a bit. Adding this new 6 ft run of cabinets should offer me lots of additional storage. I've got a butcher block table there now and It basically only houses my microwave, toaster oven, stand mixer and a small stack of bakeware. I'm thinking the new stretch will have two doors and behind them I'll have microwave, toaster oven, kitchenaid and maybe some other small appliances on pull outs. I'd also like to have three drawers the top one I'm thinking about storing my knives in so I can ditch the block on the counter. The lower two I'm thinking about making more customized for my cookware. That would make it behind the range which might not be completely ideal. I've got a cabinet with pullouts next to the range but it doesn't completely accommodate my cookware and I don't really enjoy undoing and redoing a stack of cookware everytime I want to use them. I'm thinking of making this more for large items like dutch ovens and pressure cooker and putting more of the pots and pans in the new stretch. I'm also thinking of adding toe kick drawers. I almost never bake so it'd be great to have a place to put the muffin tin and loaf pan, etc. If anyone has any advice for planning all this out I'm very open. I'll likely be building this myself so I'll take any thoughts happily!...See Morepull out spice rack where is yours?
Comments (8)The issue w/ the spice rack is this. We have a cooktop island. Next to the island is our walkway and then our Pantry. Hard to visualize I will try to get on later w/ pictures. The walkway between the island and the pantry by Code needs to be 36". My husband thoought he could get away w/ only have 30" told the KD to do it that way even though the KD said it could be a problem. Our GC found out before the cabinets arrived and said you need to fix it because it won't pass inspector and if you decide not to fix it now and the inspector doesn't pass it after you put countertops in etc you could have a serious problem and lots of extra $$$. So we lost the 6 inch pull out spice rack next to our cooktop. WE have 15 inch drawers and a cabinet under neath w/ pull outs for pots and pans and to the right of that is the baker's rack which cannot come out. The only choice was the spice rack- 6 inches lost , equaled 6 inches gained in the walkway. So we looked all over for extra room. I thought of making the trash bin smaller but we'd have to send it back to the cabinet makers and it will take forever, I don't think we could just cut it down since it's on sliders. The only space we had was next to our upper corner cabinet and yes it's very hard to reach. Like I said not the best solution but we hated to lose to it.. Just seeing if there is any other option. We've tried looking for space everywhere. WE donÂt' have much space for fillers or anything we utilized a lot of space for drawers and cabinets. J...See MoreLDB63
