Sa, from the time mine was tiny to about a year ago, it was tied (in a pot lined w/ plastic wrap) to the top of my bromeliad tree. It got decent light from a south window and from some fl. lights but not GREAT light. I would water it with r/o water periodically. I'd pretty well drench it and then ignore it for a good week or two. Often when I would next water, it had become SUPER light from being so dry. It got too big so i de-mounted it from the tree and this past summer it was in my backyard. It hung under an oak tree for awhile and then hung from a post where it could get a bit more light. Currently its hanging from the ceiling in one of my plant areas. In fact, I just posted some pics on the orchid forum and you can see the staghorn in one of them. I kinda feel that its just time that makes them big. It doesn't seem fussy at all and tolerates really bad conditions so I think just wait a bit longer. Maybe someone else has some better tips, or you could try the moss/fern forum.

Hi Bakio, I understand your frustration. We live on St. John in the Virgin Islands and my husband was an industrial designer in his professional life. We are building a hillside home at 680 feet above sea level. I am also using a indoor chandelier in our covered patio above our dining table. My husband can be counted on to find a million objections to half of the design ideas I have. Fortunately he is very bright and creative and can usually come up with a solution to my idea.He thinks we can rewire the fixture using new UV resistant outdoor rated wire. On the socket where you would normally wrap the wire he would use a sodered on connection and use a heat shrink tubing on the connection to help seal out the moisture. Be sure to use a GFI receptacle so if it does short out it won't cause a fire. Make it a plug-in so in the case of a bad storm you can unplug it and take it inside. My chandelier has shades and I am planning ot wrap the frames with some type of vinyl cording and make sunbrella fabric shades for it that will be machine washable. I haven't been able to open your picture but it sounds wonderful. Go for it!

mfn, they are totally great on hardwood (at least I think so. That's the only flooring I have ;). Like others have said, just keep them vacuumed and take them out occasionally to hose them off to keep them clean. My D&A rugs have a lot of white in them, which is quite daring for a house with a man, a klutzy gal (me) and Golden Retrievers (well, one GR now). When they have gotten stained, I have just sprayed with a solution of bleach and water, let sit, and then rinsed. Looks good as new! Now, don't do this with other brands unless it specifically says that you can, but with the Dash and Albert rugs you care encouraged Oh, and another note. From my experience the thinner waffle weave type rug liners do not hold down these types of rugs well. It's best to get the thicker rug liners (which will also give you a bit of cushion when working in the kitchen. HTH!

It's lovely and I think you will use it far more than you can even imagine. A few options come to mind: slipcovered furniture, rattan or wicker. We have a 22 foot sunroom with this set, plus the matching chair-all in a different fabric. This has served us well for 25 years (replaced the cushions/fabric once). Our room is heated but we use it in tree seasons only, which is why I am not showing you a picture right now. It hasn't been opened for the season. Enjoy your beautiful addition! Edited to add: Be aware of the sun damage that can occur and chose your fabric wisely (Sunbrella is one brand.) We have woven Roman shades at all of the windows for that exact reason.
