question - Volga Blue (black) granite scratching easily

We love our new countertops, but we are noticing some hairline scratches. We are not cutting on our countertops or even putting cookie sheets or pots/pans on them. I am being very careful, so I don't know how these hairline scratches are appearing. There are three now - in different areas. Could there be a resin, or a sealer that was filling the scratches but it wearing away as I gently wipe the counters with light mixture of soup/water? We are in FL - could it be sand somehow getting on the countertops? Could it be our cat jumping on them at night? Any ideas? I have tried to get the fabricators to come back out, and they said they would, but so far no one has been out. The scratches show up more in certain lighting and it looks like it is just in the polished layer.
