Looking for matte, cream colored, beveled subways. Any pics?

Hi,
My name is Elena, and I'm a ABBS survivor... :)
Going on 2 years.
Honestly, this is our vacation/retirement home. IF it were in the home I have to look at everyday, the BS would be finished. It's just that we don't have the time to spend on BS, when we're only there for a couple weekends a month. But...I've narrowed it down to what I think I like, and that's a cream colored, beveled, subway. Unfortuantely, I seem to only find it in glossy, and I'd like to see it in matte. This kitchen gets A LOT of sunshine, so I feel that glossy could be blinding.
Any findings or suggestions?

Try matte porcelain tile. It comes in many configurations. Not sure about the bevel though.

Our kitchen gets a ton of light too, and I went with matte on both countertops and backsplash.

Suzi, thanks for info. Yes, I've seen some matte porcelain, but I really like the beveled look. In all honesty, I have not "shopped" very hard yet. Although I feel as if I have exhausted the local tile stores, there in Lake Havasu, AZ.
Are you in the desert too? Do you have pics. of your BS?
I forgot to add that our granite is Typhoon Bordeaux.

I don't know why I didn't do this earlier, I visited a friend with bevel backsplash in her kitchen. Works in her kitchen, but I really think it might be too busy in mine. So, as long as I can stop second guessing myself for the next 24 hours, I am going to order the 3x6 crackle tomorrow morning. twosit- The glass is waterglass. I hope it hides the fingerprints. :-) scrappy25- The island is 28" x 76". Aisles are 40" wide. romy718 and jennifer- Considering bone color tile.

Backsplash: any pics of White Subway Tile with Gray Grout?

As glad posted, we used gray grout, but I'm not sure what kind or what color. The tile guy just presented me with the choices and I picked one. I didn't write down what it was. I used flat white subway tiles in the upstairs bedrooms and the first tile guy I had grouted it white (after I had repeatedly told our builder I wanted gray grout). To me, it looked terrible. To me, the pattern is the point of the subway tile and if you don't use a contrasting grout the pattern is lost. Needlesstosay, the tile guy had to dig out all the white grout and start over. We had a new and much better tile guy by the time we got to the kitchen and the laundry.

I agree that your WZ price seems way off.... my Gramercy Park subways which were installed last year (not beveled) were 13.50/sq ft. I'm doing a new build and just got prices on two other WZ tiles and they ranged from 14-16.00. Shortly after I got my Gramercy Park WZ tiles I remember someone on GW was asking about the price and they had been quoted double what I received. I bought mine locally from the dealer in our area but I had gotten a quote from a place in San Diego that ships WZ tile. The price was just a hair lower than I paid locally and I decided to give the local store my business and pay happily paid them a bit more. The online source was www.ibtsdiego.com

Often the side walls aren't tiled these days. Just painted. Because yours is quite close to the sink, you may want to tile it tho. You can use Schluter track to finish off the edges if you can't find a matching bullnose or pencil tile. Schluter track comes in different finishes such as white, cream, shiny and matt metal. a brushed stainless look would match your pulls and sink. The other thing, is you can plan it out so that a finished bevel edge is done at the end. That will depend what size tile ends up being in the corner, but with luck, that could work also. I would probably just paint the wall since you will have to decide where to finish off the tile if you start doing that wall.

My traditional subway tile backsplash is by Daltile and it is matte in the biscuit color, which is, I think, just barely cream. I wouldn't call it beveled, though.

I'm moving from the desert closer to the grand kids. We are doing an entire house remodel.

This home is on a hill with beautiful views, and decks and windows everywhere, so I am going with matte. Too much light in the house.

The view takes your breath away, and I wanted a kitchen that did the same thing.

The photo doesn't show the backsplash. Only the decorative band. Backsplash will be laid in 6" tiles on the diagonal, topped or intersected with the band.

I chose a rectified edge (flat square) so they could use a thin grout line. I don't know if porcelain comes in a bevel.
