Show me your 'plug mold'.. pics please

After emailing with the angled plugmold people, I find that I can't order from them. Contractor has to. That lead me to consider another idea.

Can't the cabinet guy install a thin piece of angled trim, then the electrician can just install a regular plug mold?

Will that be too bulky?

Will it show, even though we will have a cabinet 'valance'?

I'd sure like to see some pics of the plugmold you all have.

If you have done what I am thinking the cabinet guy/electrician can do - are you happy with it?

Can you supply the exact details of what you used and how you did it?

For ANY plugmold owners, are you happy you have it?

PS. Unrelated to the topic - our cabinets are here and we start DEMO TODAY! whoopie!

I've been researching this myself. Do a search on "plugmold" and you'll come up with some good threads.

In addition to the the pics in the linked thread, Needanap also has pictures of hers. She's in the Finished Kitchen's Blog. Click on her Kitchen pictures and then go up one level to her main account (click on "back to needanap..." in the upper left corner)

Imrainey also has plugmold, but she's not in the FKB.

The molding on our Shaker cabinets is simple looking but there's a lot of it. We had to run the venting for the range exhaust above the cabinets to the outside. As a result, we have 3 inches of "library" molding, and 4 inches of crown molding. I didn't like it at first, but I now believe it adds a lot of architectural interest, and makes the kitchen look more finished. Rich Here is a link that might be useful: kitchen pics

suzatwork: i have to say your floors have very much the same grain and variation in tone as my highly-coveted black walnut. they're stunning! i'm wondering how they take stain, since i'd like darker floors? my plan is to go with the walnut but i'll have to get some samples and check the amendoim out. i'll have to look it up, but also assuming this species would be harder than walnut... hmmm... GREAT! more for me to think about! thanks for posting your gorgeous floors.

We did the plugmold just as you described to get it angled, and it works just fine that way, and it doesn't show at all with the lightrail installed on the cabinets. Here's a pic (excuse the ugly wall--still awaiting a backsplash)...

Mine pretty much looks exactly like holligator and spans the entire length of each cabinet. Yes I have a light valence (you've seen my finished post from saturday - thanks for the complements!) and YES I LOVE having the plugmold. :) It really was not any more expensive than the normal outlets either.
