Hello I'm new to the site. I have been given a hot tub and i am trying to figure out how to turn it into a fish pond It cracked over winter so I'm just going to seal it.. It works ... So can I use the jets and it has a little built in waterfall ???I know the jets are powerful so I would have to find a way to weaken them.... Any ideas.... I would like to use as much as the original hot tub as possible .

It's time to replace our "lovely" harvest gold fiberglass tub/shower unit in the kids' bathroom. I've never had tile walls and am concerned on maintenance/cost. We looked at an Aqua Glass acrylic unit and the walls seemed flimsy. Are there good fiberglass units out there? I know we will have to go with a multi-piece unit. Is the Aqua Glass acrylic unit sturdier than it seems? We are looking for a reasonably priced unit (not necessarily cheapest) and for ease of install, as well as something that looks good. Is there an alternative we should consider?

We are remodeling after a recent housefire and our 19 year old tub/shower unit has been taken out. I believe it was fiberglass and was all one piece. What they want to put back in is a two or three piece unit. He said the sides fit together but he could seal it if we want him to. This seems like a step down in quality to me and our insurance should pay for something of similar quality. I'm afraid it will get moisture behind it if we don't seal it and that the sealant would be hard to keep clean if they do it that way. I'm also wondering how long it would stay sealed. Will the sides be attached to the wall and will they stay where they're supposed to? I'd rather have a one piece unit in there but maybe that's not possible. Am I getting cheated? What would be equal value to my cheap but non-leaking fiberglass tub/shower unit?

hummmmmmmm Very interesting. I never heard of a 45 day limit to top billing post either. Christopherth are you some moderator on this board or? to make this decision.Why would it be imporant for the post to be sent down the line just because it did not have an answer to it? I was interested to see an answer on this question myself. I popped in several times. I just never posted to it because I do not have the answer and felt unanswered questions should stay visable to someone that might have the answer. The people that bought our last MFH are planning on removing the garden tub and we have talked several times on their options of what to replace it with. Large stall shower or a regular tub or shower over tub. Sorry Summergardener I do not have an answer for you. My only thoughts would be the added weight.And maybe the small foot print of the claw foot tub feet. There might have to be something under each foot. I just do not know. Some one asked about the added weight of a large fish tank. I consider the added weight as I continue to mosaic on our furniture. Heheheh Silly me. Sure is fun though. I hope some one posts an answer. Chris
