foundation drain is draining into waste line

We just broke the concrete (basement finishing) for the bathroom. Turns out our floor drain nearby (and near the perimeter wall) also runs into the waste line, but the floor drain happens to have a 2" hole in it's side (going through the foundation wall) which allows water from the exterior foundation drain tile to enter. This is work circa 1947.

The waste line now has to be redone to accomodate the bathroom group. What's the likelyhood, in general, that I will have to separate the foundation water from the waste? I hope to avoid installing a sump, etc. since I don't have any room for it. I wish it were grandfathered, but the line has to be broken. I've got that sickening feeling it's going to be an issue.

Thanks.
