What is typical for homes in your area?

My window treatment thread got me thinking what is typical for houses in different areas of the country.

I'm in TX and what seems typical for houses here are drywall around windows ie no wood trim, aluminum windows, White interior trim, 6 panel interior doors, brick or stone or a combo with hardi on sides and back if not full stone or brick, asphalt shingles (see more architectural style now than 10 years ago), concrete patios more than decks, front load garages. Newer homes also seem to try to incorporate some form of stained cedar look for porch posts in my area.

Some of this is changing with custom homes and owners upgrading their homes, but in general this is the majority.

What is typical in your area and what is the general area?
