I would like to see more pics of the other side of your living room. Are there windows on the other wall? I need to get a feel for the style of the room. You have tile floors that might look good with a rug. Do you have a sofa in there? Are you wanting a casual look?

Hi gracie - The other side of the LR has 3 nearly floor to ceiling windows. We have brown leather furniture. I have a large round wood pedestal table in the DR. Style is 'family friendly', on the traditional side. I'm sorry but I don't have a picture, and the house is a mess right now because we're in the middle of a kitchen remodel.

Most important information is that we are selling the house - just found out we are transferring to Denver.

This is the sun room on the other side of the dining room - the stuff in there was temporary while we worked on the dr. Walls are no longer green and purple, old photo. The green wall is part of the living room window wall.

I would look for something that basically looks like the light on the bottom of the fans. Close to the ceiling and simple, since you are selling. The new owners will likely have their own ideas of what they want, so something plain will work for them until they can change them out. And some buyers like me would hate any ceiling lights, and would cap them off. So, keep it simple and not expensive, and best of luck for a quick sale!

Where in Denver are you moving to? I am from Englewood. I might be able to help in your househunting.:) I agree with Les- I think a simple light fixture is the way to go for resale purposes.

Hmm, if I should stick with simple then maybe I should just leave the fans? Or does their difference (silver & fake wood) stick out too much?

Gracie, we really have no clue yet as to where we'll live in Denver. So many options and it's so hard to sort everything out! But Englewood is definitely on the list! 'Old' Englewood sounds especially nice from what I've been told, but I haven't seen the area yet. Littleton also sounds good. Have a sil in Brighton who wants us to live there, but I'm not sure that's the right place for us. Good schools, easy transportation to 16th St. Mall, and a family-friendly neighborhood feel are at the top of our want list. For the most part, we can't afford the housing in areas like Cherry Creek and Highlands Ranch. I'd love any help you can give :)

I just came back from the store with two flush mounts, same style of light fixture (bowl) as the fans have. They were only $23 each and look fine. Thanks for your help :)

You might not like ceiling fans but they are very popular with a lot of people. You can spray paint the fans to change the color if you want and also change the blades.

I would consider leaving them. If in doubt ask your realtor.

Thanks happyladi :) You bring up a valid point and I think I'll ask the board for their opinion. We won't be contacting an agent for about a month and lots we want to do before then.

Its up to you. It depends how you like it. How the color combine the ceiling light/fan you have. Like, you have a modern ceiling lights with light color you should light wall and ceiling. If antique, better to put darker color.
