I saw this posted at another cooking forum and thought I'd share since these are so popular now and maybe you didn't get one at Aldi! These are so pretty too, I love the red one! Maybe a Christmas present to yourself ;)

My Aldi store didn't have any pieces when I went there last week. I didn't look all over but I looked in the place they normally have them and there was NOTHING! Plus not everyone even has an Aldi store so maybe they could get this one...plus it's cuter...HAHA!

Thank you, I had read that, but mine is very different from the ones pictured. And I got mine at Wal Mart. I think it's not part of the recall. "This recall involves the Paula DeenÂ® 11-inch cast iron grill pans and griddles. They were sold as QVC item numbers K14984, K11970 and K135024. The cookware is black and has the Paula DeenÂ® logo and the product size engraved on the bottom. No other Paula DeenÂ® cookware is involved in this recall." Thank you for the heads up though. :)

I would not exchange it for that minor a defect. It is not dangerous and all brands of enameled ovens can get these chips. I own and use a lot of enameled cookware and would bet that each one has a few of those chips. Dan

Melis - that is one beautiful Staub! Why don't you use it? Mine Staub is a basic round with a standard lid but I have a LC oval. Scrappy - as others have said - the oval works just fine. I have used mine on my Wolfie and it worked great. I braised with it and even used as a slow cooker on my induction. One time, I was using as a slow cooker but was chicken to leave it alone while I ran to the store, so I popped it into my speed oven on high warm and found out I have another option for a slow cooker.

Doesn't everybody? Differences between LC and S are that LC is known for the best metallurgy which yields the thinnest (lightest weight) pots. Staub is heavier, and according to the article, one of the thickest. Le Creuset runs to clearer colors. Staub has more shaded colors (i.e., with black in the mix). Le Creuset has the plastic knob on the most common household sizes (which doesn't get as scorching hot in the oven) and an option to buy a stainless one. Staub has more fancy finial knobs (personal observation). Staub, whether fancy or standard has metal. The SE people found a maneuvering difference in a half inch of diameter of the base of similarly sized pots, giving Staub more surface area on the bottom. And the winner is.....France!

Thanks arkansas for posting this. My Aldi store did not have a good selection either. The free shipping got me to purchase it.

I ordered it and I will report back when I have used it. I will be doing alot of stove top cooking now that my oven is broken. I want to take my time deciding on a new range - there are so many options.
