I know that someone here told me they were bidding on it also on eBay when I won it.

There is another one on eBay right now at the link below.

I LOVE mine, so I hope the person who wanted one sees this. This is mine right after it arrived in Nov 2008.

Sweeby, It was in an old post of mine where someone here said they were bidding on it in the same auction that I was, and I won that auction....I WISH I could remember who....This one also says best offer, so who knows....I have seen it on 1st Dibs for as high as $3300, which is absolutely ridiculous.

I got this on eBay last October. It's from the 1960s, made in Italy, solid brass base with faux bamboo look, and glass top. It's 30"x18"x16" high. I LOVE it, paid $341, and later found 2 sellers on 1stdibs selling it for $1000 and $1575 respectively. I have seen one on eBay since, so if you like it, you might keep your eyes open there. It had just been delivered when I took this pic, so that's why it's so bare. I don't know where you live, but this one is on the Maine Craigslist for $50! See the link below. Hi, les, I really appreciate your opinion. Since my LR is only 10 feet wide, I have to be careful as to what I put in there so it doesn't make it seem even narrower. This table is actually slightly larger in width and depth than the antique wooden trunk I had in there before. Putting something longer in front of the sofa would mean that one would have to walk around it to get through the room. I have 24" on either side of the table, as compared to the length of the sofa. I think that if there are 'rules' to base the table size on, I needed to tweak them a bit given the dimensions of the room, which is 25' long. I didn't want it to appear even longer. I am enjoying the visual of having the room appear more open in width with it there, and being able to see more of my wonderful rug. Believe me, if I had a room with better dimensions, I wouldn't have looked so long for a smaller table to put in there. :-) I also wanted something open and leggy to balance all the wood in the room. Also, when it has an accessory or two on it, I feel it will add weight to the look. Right now it's naked! I bought the covered bowl because it looked like a great piece for $5.99. It may not end up there; I'll try it when it arrives, and if I don't like the look, it won't land there. Those are the chances you take when buying online, but it's different and I'll enjoy it somewhere in the house. I thought of interesting floral arrangements I could do in it when I saw it.

Thanks, everyone! I know where I bought them but not the manufacturer. I’ll try turning one over to check and see if it is stamped on the bottom. I checked on my local Craig’s list (Chicago) and couldn’t see anything similar to get a handle on prices, other than something called “Hollywood Regency” style. I don’t know enough about what makes that style to know if mine are it. I also looked on EBay (local pickup) under that name. Most more elaborate than the simple lines of mine. Advantage of posting on Craig’s list is that someone would see them first and decide if they wanted them. Someone who prepaid might get annoyed it if something was not as expected, as in, scale, etc. Disadvantage of posting on Craig’s list is my market is very full and postings get drowned quickly, plus getting replies from endless scammers. I’ll take a look at 1st Dibs.

So I was just about to post a new question here and was thinking about this thread and how so many of you wonderful humans took time out a few years ago (omg pre-pandemic!!) when I was redoing my one bedroom condo. I obvs have no idea if people continue to stay on this forum but I’m hoping at least a few people see this so I can say THANK YOU!! Long story to go along with the long years we’ve all faced from early 2020 to now, but short version is soon after I did “refreshed” my place, I moved out of the h*** that was condo living in DC amid the pandemic to stay with my folks in NC. And quickly decided I never wanted to move back to DC! So I sold my place!! And no, I do not regret for a moment the work I put into it bc (1) it looked awesome and (2) it sold within days of being on the market, at a price a tad higher than other places in my own bldg which I attribute to a bit of emotional response bc my condo looked FIRE. So thanks to everyone who made suggestions (even those I didn’t take!). I learned so much and have found so much more confidence in my ability to know what I like, how to ask for help, and most of all…not become overwhelmed with opinions!! I ask for them, but hey…people like different things, no biggie. Anyways, in case anyone is still around, thought I’d share a few pics of how it all turned out in the end. Happy spring everyone!

Nope - I THINK it was someone who lives in TX, but I don't know why I think that....And with a user name in 2 parts....I looked for the old post and can't find it. Argh!!!

I *loved* it, my name is two parts, and I'm in Texas.

But it wasn't me either. At least your thread gives me another chance to admire your table... and your rug... sofa... dog... It all goes so perfectly!

I vaguely remember that, but I think whoever it was found another one (not *sure*, but that's what I remember).

Did you read the seller's disclaimers/messages? Wow. I don't think I would buy from him/her no matter what was being sold!
