What do you feed your canine friends?
Comments (24)Yak, even though this thread is old, I felt that I had to comment. My cocker absolutely loves cat food too! But I feed her homemade soup, at least three times a week. Very easy, boil up any chicken bones leftovers or whatever meat leftovers you've got. Add some rice and potatoes until cooked, and then at the very end - a whole bunch of finely chopped carrots, tomatoes, zuccini - whatever is at hand. She likes that stuff the best! I do stay away from raw meat for the dog because of salmonella threats....See MoreWhen you put manure in your yard what do your dogs do?
Comments (3)No odor. But that may also mean no nutrients. My uncle, an old farmer when I was growing up, spread manure on his fields and tilled it in within 24 hours of spreading it so the nutrients would not be lost to the atmosphere. He said what you smell from manure is nutrients going out into the air....See MoreWhere do you feed your cat?
Comments (17)I don't have a bathroom I can designate the cat room unfortunately. I guess I could use the kitchen counter, but between the two options, I guess the DR table is the better one since we rarely use it. We stack our washer dryer, or that would have been a good option because that area is near his litter box. If he wasn't getting the fancy feast, I think the dog would leave his dry food alone. Sometimes I catch the dog up on two legs carefully snatching the fancy feast bowl off the DR table to lick any crumbs left over from Oliver's dinner. Although, maybe I should just let the dog get the bowl after Oliver eats. It would eliminate the dried on cat food mess!...See MoreSo what are you feeding your dogs now???
Comments (20)I found the pet food list forums to be largly made up of a lot of knee-jerk folks. About 99% of the tainted food is canned wet food. That does not mean there is anything wrong with the same brand dry food. I know that Costco removed their Kirkland brand wet food as a precaution. Just as Hills removed their wet food from the market there have been no problems with their Science Diet dry food. The main reason I like the Kirkland dry food is because it contains no corn or wheat gluten. It does contain whole grain brown rice and cracked pearled barley. The product bag also states that it is made in the USA. Most folks don't have the time or interest to especially prepare home cooked food for their pets and have to rely on a quality packaged food. Learn to read labels....See Moreweed30 St. Louis
