Thanks again for the earlier help on parts etc. New question re. a Rion GH46 Hobby Gardener (8' width, two doors): Would appreciate info on the approximate clearance between the top corner of the door and the base of the top hinge with the door resting on the bottom hinge. Without having seen one assembled, I would guess it at about 1/8", so the door could swell a little & still swing freely. Am I anywhere in the ballpark?

Hi Marie!! So nice to see you!! I hope you are doing well and that your collection had rebound from your loss years ago. It was a hard winter again for us this year and I did have damage to a few Palm trees, but they finally made a come back.. Hoping they will again. You are so funny about my Plumeria collection! I do have it bad and I have been really good about trying to select and thin down, but its not working to well. I do have a few and thanks to LISA! ;-). She has called me out on how many I have since we had a fun contest over there at the Plumeria forum a few days ago. I had to admit how many I had.., It was a blast ! Lisa is a new Plumeria enthusiast and I'm trying to help her along .... We all remember those who come forward and help instead of lurking and being over helping out. It does mean a lot to them and it certainly makes me feel good. So Marie.. Are your trees doing well? Have you added to your COT collection too? I haven't been over to the Adenoum forum lately.. I really need to go over and say hi! I did count my collection the others day since we are changing up my backyard deck area. We made some benches to add to the side yard to place some of my trees on. Some of my friends call them bleachers LOL!!!! I'm really glad to hear from you. I haven't been on the forums to much and I try to get back to say hello to my friends. Just sent Pug a few trees last year and she just sent a pic of how they are leafing out.. I am so pleased.. When I read this article last week, sadly, it came as not much of a surprise to me. Just about a month ago, I happened to really read the ingredients on a shampoo I had purchased, and realized that it wasn't quite as "natural" as the label touted it to be. (And this was something other than 1,4-dioxane) At that point, I went on a pretty intensive internet search for shampoo that was truly organic... and was quite disappointed in my search. Many brands that I had seen previously, and thought were organic, were not completely so. And the one or two that I found were outrageously priced. The next day, I happened to drive to a natural foods store and was browsing in their health and beauty aids section. I ended up in a discussion with a very helpful employee, and we debated whether it was better to buy the $2 bottle of a popular non-organic brand, since after all, we're not really getting organic stuff anyway, or to pay the $8 a bottle for the shampoo that has fewer chemical ingredients, but still is not completely organic. (Buying the $14 "certified organic" shampoo is completely out of the question for me at this point!) Her take was that it was better to buy the "more" organic/natural shampoo because it was a step in the right direction, and that since it had fewer chemicals it was better for us and the environment. While I saw her point and agreed with it to an extent, it angers me that many companies charge and receive $8 or more a bottle and have customers who think they are getting an organic shampoo. So IMO, continuing to buy their product is rewarding them for something they are not doing, and to a point rewarding them for hoodwinking consumers. It's quite discouraging. I cut corners to spend the $$$ on items that are supposedly natural and organic, etc., both in foods as well as personal care products and cleaning products also. It costs a lot of money to buy with your conscience, and so many people are trying to, and sometimes it makes you wonder why you bother. Sorry to vent. Actually, duluth, this was one reason why I didn't post to this thread earlier. I'm kind of discouraged and didn't want to be a downer to everyone, lol! I guess we've just got to really read labels and educate ourselves on what those labels really say. :) Dee

Sun dogs and rainbows are related and are created by similar physics - Light refracting/reflecting off and/or through moisture forms in the sky. The sun dog of this picture is the interaction of sunlight and a cloud of frost crystals. A rainbow is created with water droplets in the sky. For a rainbow, the sunlight comes from behind the viewer, strikes water droplets and are reflected off axis of the incoming light beam. Differening light frequencies are bent at differing angles and the viewer see the white light spead in a band of colors. For a rainbow, the ligft enter a water droplet, bends some, reflects off the backside of the droplet and exits the front side of the droplet, but at a much different angle than it entered. A frost sundog is different. The light may reflect off the front side of frost flakes or frozen fog droplets. if the light passes through a frost crystal or droplet, it bends light of different colors a little differently and thus you see the light broadened into a color bands, but not as distinct as a rainbow. Therefore, you may see frost sundogs while looking toward the sun and off to the side. This winter, I saw a huge sundog in a frozen fog bank. That morning, we were blanketed with frozen fog and as the fog began to break up as sunlight came through in spots, the sundogs appeared. The sun was to my left (east) while I viewed south (90 deg to the light beam). Sun dogs can be observed during airplane flights. When flying above the cloud tops, little sundogs can appear when viewed at 90 deg to the incoming sunlight.
