Thanks, Rita :) *beams* I"m really happy with what I've been able to do with basically a large slab of concrete. Pat, I've had some of them in larger containers for 2-3 years before dividing. I give them really good organic fertilizer or root trim, and in plastic containers, I usually drill lots of small holes in the sides to aerate the roots better and also put a wick in larger containers so roots don't rot from poor drainage. They do very well overall. This is one of the first years I forced myself not to mess around too much so I could see some of the daylilies' full potential. I have itchy fingers and am always moving/rearranging

Yeah,Moc,that is the same vase. The Sagae is right there beside it;this is just a viewfrom below it. It's not really a vase. It is the remains of an old fountain that froze one year and the top broke out,so I just recycled it to the garden. Phil

illinoisdoglover, here's the definition from the American Hosta Society (AHS) - DRAWSTRING EFFECT - the leaf distortion caused by the expansion of the interior of the leaf blade with a correspondingly lesser expansion of the margin tissue. This usually occurs as the result from a narrow white margin and green to gold center; e.g. H. 'Lunar Eclipse'. So, the margin is growing slower than the green inner part of the leaf and draws the edge in either above or below the leaf. Here's a picture of my Lunar Eclipse... the second flush of leaves will usually not be affected as much. This is as good as Lunar Eclipse ever looked in my garden....so I tossed it. Link below to a list of hosta that drawstring. Paul Here is a link that might be useful: DRAWSTRING-LEAVED HOSTA
