The room is much larger than what I was picturing too, but I still think I'd like more than just one wall. Would not do the ceiling, but I would keep the chair rail and paper above it, paint below it. I'd think about a pair of larger mirrors on the sink wall and not break the far wall with the towel bar but come up with something more interesting for hand or fingertip towels. art of that depends on the scale of the paper though -- it might not be what I am picturing either.

Dianalo, thanks for the doors link! Funcolors, I just don't like the grooves that are routed into the doors. Those are the white lines you see on the doors in the photo. Yes we really do deserve laundry rooms that make us smile. I called my utility company the other day to ask if I could sew a "cozy" for my electric water heater. The gal put me on hold and when she came back she said they were all chuckling over the idea and I was the first person to ask that. Can't imagine why, because I can't be the only woman alive sick of staring at an ugly water heater. Htnspz, I've been looking and looking for that paper or close to it. I'm still looking. That is what I like doing, taking something that's a bit edgy or different and seeing if I can pull it off. I've made some colossal mistakes that way, but also had a few nice triumphs. If it's any comfort, I can't find the paper either and I sure have tried. If one of us finds the stuff, we should alert the other. Which bedroom pic inspired you? You know the one that got to me was the bed with big orange flowers, orange checked bedskirt, and lots of pale green trim in the room. Never could find that quilt anywhere. I have often had to kiss a lot of frogs before finding the prince, decoratingly speaking. ScoobyRuby, thanks for the tip about Ikea. It never would have dawned on me that I could get a pre-made. That's the whimsical part that made me laugh -- but hey, I'm glad there are people on this earth with all sorts of tastes that are different from mine. I enjoy seeing what they do. Good thoughts about the laundry room. The green in this guest bath will be low; it shouldn't reflect on the guests' skin. I've spent a lot of time on Thibaut's home page. I agree with you they have some great stuff. Sheesh, you're right that hardware needs to go. I'm thinking I'll put up wainscoting (I probably have enough left over paper for the bathroom) and paint that and the vanity green. To those of you who didn't like the paper, thank you for sharing what is so for you. I go out on decorating limbs a bit, but with hopes that I can make it work. Sometimes I can. Sometimes I can't.

Just my take on it. We just bought a house we love back in July. Even the colors in nearly all the rooms are lovely, almost all newly painted. I knew that a small alcove; breakfast type area was painted-over wallpaper, (this was after the beginning of the "love affair" before buying. To my horror and dismay, I found more painted over paper in a powder room, hallway bath, kitchen, and worst of all; Master bath, with large soaring cathedral ceiling!! All this right before closing. I totally blame myself for it, for not looking a LOT more closely. But I was totally blinded by the rest of the house by then. Had I seen it in so many rooms when first looking, I may have walked away without a second glance. I want the Master bath and kitchen MY colors, but I do NOT want it painted over wallpaper a second time, I'm just too picky, and, with an arthritic neck, I DO NOT have the energy to take it all off for now, or the forseeable future, so I'll have to live with it. And, I just bet the painted-over-paper will be a lot worse to get off than just paper alone. :( But, I digress.....

@palimpsest I gush of Queen of Spain every time I see it. Love that print but it is way out of my price range. I might be able to find a more reasonably priced wallpaper and fabric combo though. @Ida Claire, @mytwo cents I really like the velvet with a tieback, though I like Queen of Spain more. I think I am in for many returns before I find the right color. But I think a huge tieback with snakes and African figures could be fabulous. I am thinking a really tall tieback in the 3' range. Does that sound fabulous or more of a flop to you?
