Please give us a closer picture of plant #1, particularly the leaves. Plant #2 appears to be vining, so Campsis radicans, aka Trumpet Vine is a possibility. Plant #3 is a Tulip Popular tree, Liriodendron tulipifera. Plant #4 could be a young Persea or perhaps a Magnolia. Plant #5 is an Eastern Red Cedar, Juniperus virginian a. Plant #6 is a tree, but needs a leaf for positive id. Plant #7 IS HIGHLY INVASIVE--kill it while you can, It's an silver thorn aka Eleaegnus http://www.invasive.org/browse/subinfo.cfm?sub=3021. Look carefully at the undersides of the leaves--they are silver. I also notice from your picture that it's blooming now--if you notice its flowers are quite different from honeysuckle. One of them, the decora which had the little shrubby growth at the bottom recovered and made new small shoots in the late summer, and this spring they made shoots nearly as big as the originals making a full recovery. the other one, makinoi which had only 2 large culms with very little foliage eventually lost their leaves and didn't make it so it was a goner. It seems like severely root bound plants can make a full recovery as long as they still have viable buds and the rhizomes haven't dried out completely, but there is a point where the shoot buds are no longer viable and the plant is pretty much dead as they become a living stick. Many commercial nurseries take over-sized divisions sticking them in pots with minimal soil which leads to root-bound plants very quick, and as these divisions dehydrate very easily, the lose viability very fast. Many times, nurseries are only worried about the bottom dollar so they don't care if the plants die because they already made their money and apparently aren't interested in repeat customers. If you are planning on getting bamboo plants, I would suggest first trying to find a local grove of bamboo you can dig from, and then perhaps looking on bamboowebforums to find a forum member you can make a road trip to to collect many bamboos at once. It is definitely worth the time. If you can't find anyone then I would suggest bamboogarden in Oregon because I know it is a legitimate bamboo nursery.

Please notice that the leaves are drying from the edges inward. This is not a fungal leaf spot. (Yes, I know the previous post didn't refer to that portion of the leaves -- I'm just trying to clarify the problem at hand.) Beyond that, the spots we do see on the leaves -- inward from the dry zone -- don't fit the requirements for a fungal leaf spot. For this tree, nothing will remain if one follows the suggestion to "Remove twigs, leaves ... and destroy them." Further, the bare twiggy ends at the top of the tree are likely drying back and/or already dead. (This should be verified by scraping the surface of the branch tips -- alive and creamy? or dead and gray or brown?) That those branch tips in the upper portion of the tree are bare/dead is a cue that a root problem exists. It's worth checking the soil's moisture content. Further, this tree is receiving lots or reflected light and heat from its suroundings, all of which increases its need for water. Thus 15 minutes of sprinkler irrigation 3 times a week is likely to be far too little. This is especially true if the tree is in a warm, or hot, and/or dry climate. Another consideration is the soil -- what kind; how deep; and what sort of drainage. Perhaps the tree is drowning.

Those were my thoughts exactly--if I can't have what I've been dreaming of then I want to build something completely different. I found another plan I really liked alot & sized it down to meet our needs, but my DH did not agree. We have looked at just about every plan between 1800 & 4000 sq ft on S. Living, ePlans, Don Gardner, Frank Betz, Frank Snodgrass, Sater Design, Cool House Plans...well you get the picture. That's where the single story above comes into play--it's as close as we've been able to come to agreeing on an exterior facade for a house. MarthaElena-The houses in the area are minimum 2500 sq ft and they go way up from there (over 5000+ sq ft). There are a number of S. Living plans in the neighborhood. The houses are mostly very traditional style houses--Federalist, Georgian, Cape Cod, European. So either house would fit in the neighborhood just fine style wise & square footage wise. The neighboring houses range in age from built last year to 20 years old--some are definitely pricier & some are not, so I feel comfortable saying we'd be in the middle with the single story & on the upper end with the 2 story once complete.
