We're not talking about botanical accuracy. Your post says you can look at the pages at the link and use them to choose a tree. To work this would have to be based on each species shown always having the color shown. That's my point: it's not actually like choosing paint from color swatches (except that the paint sometimes looks different after being applied!). Trees vary. For yet another illustraton, very commonly planted red maple (Acer rubrum) seedlings can be all yellow, orange, red or nearly purple (or a blend) in fall, with posts on this web site indicating unexpected behavior on some planting sites even with widely known named clones.

I suggest planting it in the ground, not in a pot. Fertilize in spring only with 5-10-5 and wrap with cardboard the first few winters. They can easily die back until established.
