Actually there are two ( that I know of) peppers called Rain Forest. The above description seems to be a mix of the two varieties/species. The annuum is a smaller plant with variegated leaves. The baccatum is a tall plant but does not have variegated leaves but pods similar to those in the link above. As I said, the description in the link seems to combine traits of the two. We have our RFG now for a month. It's smooth and shiny, but there are duller lines along some of the veins. No stains, scratches etc. Would you stand on any counter? I'm not going to stand on this one for sure. And I don't think I would stand on granite either. RFG is so gorgeous. We keep looking at it and finding new colors and veins. Today my sister found a tiger next to a stream. I have one spot that is a tornado. There are lots of tree tops and just odd color spots. As you saw in the photos, my kitchen is very plain. Slab doors and drawers, wood floor etc. I think RFG would clash with a fussy kitchen. Regarding price, we paid about $4000 for 62 sf, including fabrication and installation. We didn't pay extra for a fancy edge. Saturday is backsplash day. The tile is 3x6 glass subway in a very light green. I'll post photos when it's done. I hope you will keep RFG as a possibility. We are so happy with it and everyone who sees the kitchen is blown away.

Hello, I feel that whilst paranoid and misquoted scientists can hinder relevant discussion, so to can emotive responses from people without any knowledge at all. Rainfall has not increased or decreased along the East Coast, whereas human activity has! Also, landscapes are cultural before they are natural! Homogenous landscapes can't be avoided, especially where people are involved and the linear relationship between deep green conservation and the horticultural industry is slight. Jan, what is important for land management, is identifying objectives and what resources are available. If you were to leave your paddock be, it might take 1000 years for a climax forest community to result? Also, you have to determine if your area was 'originally' rainforest or scrub and if so, to what extent? Did Aborigines live there and what was the fire regime and history? What I would like to impress upon you is however, it might be feasible to put a D3 through your paddock and deep-rip with follow up herbicide spraying (pasture grass is terrible for tree establishment!). Then plant (pioneers) up to 4000 stems/ha and wait for canopy closure... Cheers and Good Luck!

So, we are remodeling our master bath. I have experience with 12 inch rain forest shower heads in a couple of commercial settings that were divine, in that they had enough volume and pressure that they felt like water was pouring over you from a bucket. These showers use a lot of water, but you feel really clean really fast, so you can take a really quick shower, and they definitely get the shampoo out of your hair, etc. Since these early experiences, I have experienced a number of these heads that seem to have weak flow and pressure, and are not a great experience as the water dribbles out and they don't wash the shampoo out of your hair and are really nothing special. I understand that to get the volume effect, you have to have larger pipes and a larger connection to those pipes to get the right water volume (which I can do since we are re-plumbing the entire house). Waterworks still makes one that takes a 3/4 inch input, but it is $4k and I don't want to spend that on a single shower head (I have used that one in the past and it is capable of producing the desired effect). Their website also doesn't list its flow rate, but I seem to recall that it is 14 GPM, which is significantly more than the 2.5 current federal standard so either it is not legal in the US or they have a removable water saver. My question is, has anyone solved this issue or found another product that produces this "deluge of water" effect, or is it impossible even outside of CA? Any advice would be much appreciated as we have to make this decision really soon. Thank you.
