Hannah, a classmates dog

Been so busy all summer with our garden and now it is finally nearing the end now so I have more free time. Today we got 82 straw bales for our roses and they had a pretty dog that I just had to get photos of. I believe it is a pekinese, sorry about the spelling.

Olympus 3000

I have gotten a new camera but still learning how to use it so still using my first digital camera alot yet. My new camera is a Canon Power Shot 33 IS, I wanted another smaller camera that I could bring every where, it is maybe bigger than I'd like but I also wanted 12x optical zoom and an image stablizer. Will post photos with that camera when I get more used to it.

Excellent choice on that new camera! Isn't it S3 IS...My wife has the older version S2 IS

Very Nice photo!! Looks like he/she is posing for the camera. A very well-groomed dog.

He/she is a Pomeranian, not a Pekinese. Pekinese have flat noses like bulldogs.

Enjoy your new camera, and I'm looking forward to some more of your photos.

Sammy and Hoov: Glad you enjoyed the pictures. It is funny getting her summer hairdo every year. She does feel better when its done. She literally bounces off the walls without that heavy fur coat to drag around. What makes me laugh is when we bring her home from the groomers my cats seem to laugh at her! I mean they know its her because of the scent I presume but they run around the house and tap her in the bottom with their paws and act like kittens chasing her. They all get a great aerobic workout the first week or so after her grooming because my two cats find her new appearance so amusing they chase her everywhere. Kitties are fun what can I say. Kate

Luvs, your counting accessment is in the "right ballpark". I will be posting what I found in a bit, so you all can compare, I just did not want to do it before everyone had finished their lessons. Yes, her tablesetting is elegant, but yet down to earth. I will talk abit more about that later too. Kareen, great, I'm happy you are joining in too, there is no pressure to "have" to do a tablescape, this is all about doing things at your pleasure. But, believe me, I am sure you will eventually want to LOL Dreamgoddess, yes that is the book, one of quite a few that she has, and she has a new one coming out next year. Don't worry, even if you are last in being able to do this, I will still be checking back on this thread, so I won't leave you behind :) Karen, you are in the upper part of the ball park too LOL, don't worry, my memory is terrible too, that is why I make lists...very involved lists LOL No problem with you not liking the table setting, that is the good thing about this exercise, you are just learning to see what is there, even if you don't like the setting you can still learn from it. I am glad you are finding things that are useful to you here.

My dog just Pee'ed on my bed!!!

He's just marking the bed as his territory. He doesn't know why you'd have a problem with that. If you wanted it -- YOU would have already peed on it... I have 11 dogs, down from 12. They are rescues and some are going to be rehomed and some are here to stay. When I had #12 she and her sister had pee wars on my bed and I was ready to kill them. 55 pound pit bull mixes make a lot of widdle! Now Katie is in her new home and Hannah no longer has to compete with her so the sprinkling has stopped. They do still pee on the dog beds though especially my domiant tiny Shih tzu/Yorkie girl. Get your little darling neutered when its time and make it plain the bed is YOURS and not his and it will help. I'd also block access to the bed until he is older. By the way doing dominace rolls with a small puppy can scare him. They are falling out of favor as a way to deal with breeds like Rotties and pits and that's not a bad thing. Lydia, your post flooded me with memories of my sweet boy, Bear. He had the same symptoms. The first vet did an x-ray, but then said Bear was too large for it and he needed to go to another vet with a larger machine. He was a german shepherd. We took him there. They saw a mass in his spleen and said if it had not spread to his liver he could be treated and most likely recover well. They couldn't tell if it had spread without surgery. We did the surgery, hoping for the best. After putting him thru that we found out it had spread to his liver. Since then I have told everyone if I had to do it over again I would not have put him thru the surgery. He was my baby and they kept him at the vet for 3 days. They said it would be best if we didn't visit during those days. I did on the second day anyway. It was upsetting to him and to me to have to leave him. He had a few good days after the surgery, but he also had some days where he didn't want to move. Less than 2 months after putting him thru the surgery and spending $4000 we had him put down to end his suffering once and for all. That was 4 years ago today. I wish you and Kobi the best. You are in my thoughts.

My wife and I's most beloved dog, our first after we married 28 years ago, was a little Pom mix. They can be great dogs. Thanks for a lovely reminder.

Thank you and I stand corrected on 2 parts, typing error on the camera part and yes, I guess Hannah is a pomeranian, they also had a pekinese. I only took photos Of Hannah.

Joan, Oh yeah I am still using my Digital Rebel, I just don't take that one every where I go like my Olympus 3000. My Olympus is smaller, I am hoping my new Canon will take over for my Olympus but so far,I have not had the time to learn how to use it yet. It is alot different than my Olympus. I like the challenge on how to learn how to use a new camera, I just need more time. Now with the yard and garden work almost done, I should have more time.
Yes, I got potd at digicamplus yesterday with this photo, thank you for noticing. When I was trying to take photos of Hannah, it was quite the challenge, as she wanted to always get too near me to get a good shot. I had put away the camera once and then I saw an opportunity and took the camera out again. So glad I did.
