I like pink with gold and ivory...can be very regal

We painted our pink bathroom tile about 10 years ago and it has held up well....ask your local paint store what you are doing and they will tell you what type of paint to use.

Are you keeping the pink tile? My bathroom has
1940's pink tile, and I'm considering painting the walls
Benjamin Moore's soft white, pink damask or blanched coral. I'm also getting decorative sconces. A chandelier would add elegance -- but there's the problem with
electrical codes, moisture, etc.

How luck you'd be if your tile was that nice soft tone of pink but often 1950's pink tile is much more bold or pinky beige and usually there is a whole mess of it.

This may be a softer pink than your tile, but they really embraced it - I don't think it's tile, but you could carry the pink up the wall and onto the ceiling even, like this:

Maybe look for some really bold wallpaper that will take dominance over the tile...

My bathroom is so small it's hard to get a photo. I found this combination online and it's almost identical to what I have.

Of course the classic 50s approach was to go with pink and black...or as my Mom's old chevy was, pink and gray.

Here are some design seeds that may give you some inspiration. I also suggest going to a fabric store and seeing what fabrics may inspire a color scheme to go with the pink.

I love TAUPE, ivory , and pink! Not only is it a sophisticated color combo, but also sexy and romantic. Painting the walls taupe, both bed and bath, would be first on the list. For bedding, an ivory comforter/duvet(you want something fluffy, not flat like a bedspread would be), a combination of pillows, some solid/couple of prints, clear acrylic lamps w/ivory lamp shades, rose/pink drapes, and a beautiful arrangement of flowers, some w/taupe or ivory tips, but also shades of pink.

Here's a very pretty rug, large for the bedroom with a smaller one for the bathroom. Towels in cream and taupe. If you don't have a crystal chandelier in either room, you *should* add one.
