I did this, but on paper for Mothers Day for my kids this year.I took pics of the profiles of my 3 grands, and printed them out the size I wanted......cut them out, traced them onto the paper I wanted, cut it out again.I even went as far as on one of my grandsons, used decorative scissors to cut the hair sticking out at the back of the head, to make it look a little more realistic.....lol.... You could do the same thing with fabric.....that is how it used to be done before we had so many creative tools to do it now

I cannot say enough good things about selectblinds.com. Their sheer blinds are just as good as Hunter Douglas silhouettes, and 40% cheaper. Yes, it is cut, but it's the white paper that's cut with the black paper underneath and then the hair and clothes details are drawn on. So it's the white paper that's cut but not the black. And no, no signature. The frame looks old (but hey the 20s/30s are old) and I've not wanted to take it apart fearing that it may be fragile if it is really old. If you would take it apart the black paper would be separate and then you would have the cutout piece for the head and chest with the collar in between.
