Whirlpool Side by Side Refrigerator - Ice Maker
Comments (8)I use the ice dispenser a few times a day (approximately 4 times daily). I double checked the freezer setting after posting this thread and realized I had turned the freezer down a little bit warmer than the original midpoint setting. I have since turned it back to the midpoint. I will empty the current load of ice and see what happens....See MoreSide by side refrigerators..
Comments (1)You can simply nail 2x4 to the sides of your adjoining cabinets and then install a filler strip to be your fridge mount. My side by side fridge/freezer simply sits tightly between two stainless steel strips....See MoreBosch Benchmark vs. Sub-Zero Side by Side Refrigerator/Freezer
Comments (10)I had a 42" SZ side by side in my apartment before renovating. When I redid the kitchen, I put in a 36" french door over under model. There are several things about a side by side which I dislike--consider and see if you care: (1) in the side by side, the fruit and vegetable drawers are on the bottom whereas they are at a more convenient waist-height in the over under model--to me that is the real deal breaker; (2) in a side by side, the freezer is not wide enough--sometimes, I would need to put a sheet pan or similar item in the freezer and there was no room to lay it flat--annoying but not as big a deal as the placement of the produce drawers and (3) I found the multiple drawers in the freezer to hold less than the large divided drawer in the over under model--not that big a deal but definitely a minus....See MoreMost reliable 48 inch side by side refrigerator?
Comments (6)48" is kind of a odd duck. Is there any way that you could swing two 36" units? Maybe put one in the pantry? Currently, I've got a 48" KitchenAid. It's been a fine refrigerator. But, it's 20 years old and built by the old KitchenAid. They still make them. I can't vouch for the current model, but this one has been a work horse. Thermador makes a really nice column unit arrangement that is customizable. I recommended it to a friend. It worked in her application. She really likes it and it has been dependable. The other companies are Liebherr, GE, JennAir and Marvel. Avoid Viking at all costs. Too bad you have been disappointed by SubZero. They really are the class of the lot....See Moreminiscule
