By now you probably have found out what ate your dahlias. My guess is still slugs despite your using slug bait.

The one in the picture that I have and find it versatile. It consists of one motor/driver and two different blender/ grinders attachments. Blender looks just like a blender and the grinder is just like conventional coffee mill/grinder. They thread onto the containers and then dropped into the driver. So if I want to just make flakes (not fine powder) use the grinder. But if I wish to make fine powder, use the grinder. Since the units are detached/separate from the motor, you can wash them, manually or in dish washer. You can also temporarily store things in the container that you just blended. The unit comes with a few screw on lids for the containers. I have had this unit for maybe 10 years. I throw away my bulky blender with zillion buttons ( Oyster ?) . This unit together with the stick blender ( 25 yrs old Braun) do every blending and grinding needs. I find them the best inventions since the ball point pen. :-)

That first one looks very scary. Cool, but scary. Wouldn't want to brush up against it accidentally!

You’re not going to like my response, but I actually had one of these, a Cuisinart. Got rid if it! My issues with it were: it did not chop evenly so you’d get big pieces at the same time as tiny minced pieces at the same time as liquefied pieces. It did not hold a lot, or if you overfilled it, there’d be even more uneven pieces, and some getting liquefied so all could get chopped. Also, once you chopped your onion, carrot, or whatever, it took a while to get everything out of the chopper cause it was stuck to the sides and blades and there was no easy way to get the chopped pieces out of the nooks and crannies. Also, it was more of a chore to clean the several parts of the chopper. And it took up space in my cabinet. Instead it is so much faster, easier, cleaner, and better chopped results to simply take out a knife and chop on a cutting board. There are many youtube videos on how to chop things properly if you need help in that.
