WOW!!! I love your pictures. I have always wanted to do something like that in my yard; got as far as planting 2 climbers against my unsightly garage but did not have the foresight to add an arbor and a bench which, judging from yours, would have been gorgeous!!! Oh well, maybe next year. Thanks so much for sharing. I am using the second picture as my screen saver so I can enjoy it on there even if I can't enjoy it in person. Happy Gardening!

Welcome HOME, Lucy and sorry you were traveling in bad weather. What a nightmare! I can't imagine waiting at an airport that long. I would be a major grump after the first two hours. Have fun today getting re-acquainted with all your babies, especially the brugs! We want photos! We are getting out our arks here from all the rain. (We are at 6-8" of rain in the last 6 days and some parts of Atlanta have had over 15". A slow moving "land hurricane" has been traveling thru the region for that long, it just keep rotating around and around!!!)

Karyn no I was sicker then a dog yesterday, but feel 100% better today. Thanks. And your first posting made me laugh a lot lol and laughter has a healing effect lol. Hubby learned his lesson and he buys my gifts these days...ha ha ha About Precious and her misery ....I was going to call and make a appointment yesterday...I think she can not be in heat when they spay her. If I remember correctly and from what I remember my vets always said they should have their 1st time before spaying them. Been a while since a had a baby kitten :-) But I do not breed and there are to many unwanted animals out there already. Karyn I know you were just kidding about the shooting ha ha ha had to read it again and it is just so funny lol Well got to get the garage empty for the guy who installs the openers today. Got the Ping Pong table still up. Man that was a lot of fun playing with the grandkids. Have not played since our kids were little. I do not know who played worse...the GK or I roflmao Eloise I have had so many years were I wrote x mas cards...but never got around to mail them out. My house faces north and I had the same situation, plants that froze to the ground in front, but fared just fine in back, and even two similar plants in different parts of the front or back yards faring completely differently through winter. You can't underestimate the power of micro-climate zones in any area. Your idea about finding a neighbor's surviving plant and getting a cutting sounds like a good one. I've also heard Samoan Fluff and Celadine are very hardy, and easier to find than varieties like Sierra Madre. Someone else may know more but I'd read somewhere that Key West Red is very tough and fairly cold-hardy, though I would probably place it next to a structure to be safe. That one would be nice if you want a richer color and lower growth habit. I ran across an interesting list--don't know how reliable it is--but you may want to check it out in the link.
