Freebie Victories

Everyone loves to get an unexpected freebie or upgrade when you've been dissatisfied with a product or service. Has anyone received free products or upgrades when you've complained? Have you noticed that companies are willing to bend a little more to keep your business these days? Or, does it seem like they are less willing to listen then they may have been a few years ago?

My brother-in-law always pays less for cable then anyone I know. When the 'promotional contract' ends and they raise his rates, he calls and cancels and tells them he won't pay such a high price and is planning on going with another carrier. He haggles and deals and usually ends up with another year of cheap cable with all the bells and whistles.
