Duvet users - how do you iron them?
Comments (20)Lizzie...if your going to use a spray starch..I have found Faultless Heavy works well. A few tips...spray starch can cause flaking, I've found after you spray wait 10 seconds before hitting it with the iron, you'll get less flaking.. Also if you re spray and re iron a second time you will get a really beautiful smooth and crisp finish. All starches are not created equil so you may have to play around a bit. and for super starched things you can use a liquid starch in the washer and a spray starch lol....See MoreHow do you use steam in your FL?
Comments (9)You're going to have to experiment with the steam feature. I hardly ever use it and find it really doesn't do much. It's supposed to relax and open fibers for really deep cleaning. On my Electrolux it adds 20 minutes more to the cycle and by default omits a third rinse (even if I wanted a third rinse the washer doesn't offer it, your LG probably will allow a third rinse). I ALWAYS do three rinses. So I'd rather have three rinses than use steam. I'll use hot, Allergen, or Sanitary instead with longer wash times. I have black khaki pants and colorful button down dress shirts that I use for work. I'll switch between either a warm water wash or an Eco-Hot, which is warmer than "warm" but cooler than hot. (Electrolux doesn't offer this temp. setting on their newer generation machines, which sucks). I'll use the Colors cycle (max temp. warm) or Normal (allows for Eco-Hot). Full cycle times 45 minutes (wash time 20 minutes the rest is threes rinses and final spin). The colors have lasted three years. I am now replacing pants and shirts. I've never used steam on colored clothes but I have for whites. I hang dry ALL my pants (jeans, khakis, sweat pants) and hang dry ALL my dress shirts, sweat shirts. It's the dryer that's hardest on colors....See MoreHow often do you use the programs on your speed oven?
Comments (2)I guess it depends on what you're planning on cooking, and if those programs cover your needs. I had an Advantium in my last house (for 6.5 years) and always used the programs. With the combination of convection oven, microwave, halogen lights, and cooking duration, it would take a lot of experimentation to find the right settings for each variable. I wouldn't have a clue what the optimal combo is to speed cook 6 chocolate chip cookies, for example. The Advantium made it easy because GE's experts already figured that out-- just scroll through the menu and find your food. I only used manual controls if I was using it as a standard convection oven or microwave, but never for combination speed cooking. I haven't used any other speed oven, so I can't comment on their ease of use....See MoreHow do you use your patio door by dining room?
